Flushing the plants before harvest?

Too much chance of mould in Tassie, I have heard of others going that long though

wouldnt having GOOD ventilation avoid mould??

I know my 1st plant which grew at a mates, well he turned the light off for a WEEK, anyways I was worried about it and thought he had rooted the plant, But It didnt effect it in anyway,

I mean It just kept on growing, even without light? so I assume then maybe it had loads of energy stored?

At the same time another freind was growing the same clone, (we took both clones at the same time), then his was under a 400 watter. mine was under my 600 watter, They were grown the same way (system), kept at the same ph, same TDS, same nutes Actually everything was identical.

My harvest was better by about 3 OZ, so the difference between the 600w and the 400w in that case was 3 Oz, worth the electricity I reakon,

BUT The lower yeilded one was a better, stronger more pungent smelling than the one that had a week of dark.

oh I flushed them differently though,

600w was flushed with Final Flush, for 3 days, the other under 400watt was flushed for 2 weeks.

go figure?

I have just had the same situation with 2 plants in organic soil that matured at different times. I flushed for one week before the earlier of the two was ready then harvested it. The second looked about a week and a half to two weeks away from harvest so i kept flushing with fresh water and chopped it after a week and a half. They both turned out luvley.....

The object of a flush is to flush-duh! the nutes out(if you use chemicals) and make the plant use the remaining nutes it has stored. Dunno about fast flushes. My plants loved the long flush as the final product was amazing.....then again it is all preferance..

just thought i would add, that for me personally If my weed is not flushed for 2 weeks then it usually gives me a headace,

Thats the main reason I decided to grow my own in the first place, I got sick of these fucking headaces

Its a bitch though in that if I run outta bud, then I cant pull a few leafs off and smoke them as it just gives me another headace.

but since growing my own I havent had any weed headaces.

sounds like you live in a nice spot Taz...nice and cool.. Ive never had a crop that didnt get mold on at least one part of it or a bud etc... it doesnt usually amount to much in terms of % of total amount..but..I am always amazed by these pics of huge heads the size of mufflers...they must be full of mould...or in a desert or something...

Dont flush with water only as this will starve the plant and decrease frost production on the bud, use a organic rinse of some sort to remove any chemical taste and improve the taste, ie final rinse or ozi-tonic are good ones.

Ozi tonic is a very good one ,use at ratio of 2000ml per 100 litre, rinse for 3 days and change water again with ozi-tonic for another 2-3 days.

This will produce a really smooth tasting bud, the other half of the good tasting bud is the curing and locking process, which is just as important as growing the product.

Just a side note:-Have tried using 5000ml per 100 litre of in week 8 of flowering of ozi tonic and resin production was incredible, it was literally like a snow storm in there, after flushing the following week with 2000ml per 100 litre of ozi-tonic, it returned to normal levels of resin production.
