Clones almost 100% yellow...

Recommended Posts

clones will strike fine in any amount of light, I've cloned heaps of times with no lights at all, just with the glow from my box and the little bit of sun coming through the window.

I dont think mr nice guys prob has anything to do with light, I've cloned under 400w millions of times. Make your self some shade if you want though, stick some paper over the top of them. Maybe it could be clorophyll bleaching from high light levels, but from 1mtr away I doubt it.

How were the clones when you got them, were the stems kept moist (eg in wet paper towel) until you planted them in the rockwool?? Had the leaves dried a bit???

What have you got in your water?? have you got a small amount of bloom nutes?? or nutes high in potassium and phosphorous low in nitrogen ?? use 1/4 of the directions on your bottle. If your using superthrive dont go over 10 drops per 5 ltrs. Did you make holes in the rockwool or just jam your clones in???

Clones yellow due to them feeding of themselfs its completely natural for cuts to yellow..

concidering the fact being cloned is the most drastic event they can go thru...

keep them unde the lights

keep the humidity up

keep the rw moist

how r they cracking today

Nice Guyyyyy

I dont get much yellow leaves at all on my clones..maybe 4-5 leaves on a batch of 20..most stay the same colour they were on the plant... But i try and get optimum conditions...a heat mat set at 24 degrees.....fluoros . a humidicrib of some sort....etc..fresh water only in the cube... for first 7 days..and no spraying at all..and no feeding unless the cube starts to dry out...I usually get roots in 5-9 days in the warmer months...a bit longer in winter...say 10-21 days..They dont want to be to wet...and the foliar spray is actually washing out any nutes in the leaves..this will give you more yellowing....Bigger leaves can have their fingers cut in half...saves energy for roots...I never dip them under water when I take them...I never drench with fresh water for few days before taking them..these are just myths IMO

Regards

I used RW instead of peat pellets tho (My hydroshop just got them so RW is cheaper  :D )

Tou can buy coco peat in half-brick-sized blocks for about $2 - pellets are only good if you intend to keep them on the plant [the mesh is hard to get off the roots but the peat isnt].

Hey everyone.....

I moved the clones back under my fluros in my veg/clone cab yesterday and i looked under one of the shiskeberrys today thinking it was dead and it now has roots popping out! Another 2 have roots on aswell but they are all white/yellow/brown looking dead (I think still alive just really close to death :)).... If these clones that look really dead are planted and i treat them good like seedlings will they still grow nice new green growth and the genetics be as good etc? I can feel the ak47 about to pop some roots soon... and it does look healthy :D

Should be getting my hands on a digicam next week sometime... so stay tuned, this bagseed plant I got is growing like a mutant. Each node is growing like a V and has 2 branches I havn't seen any pictures of plants like this.

hey,

Heres my 2 cents .....

Cloning isnt some rocket science unless you want it to be.... Start from scratch and consider why or how do you clone...

before the clone is cut tie a pipe cleaner around the stem where you want it to root.. Only crimp the stem youll hear a small crackin sound... leave this for a week or two and white bumps will appear (roots) clone that branch at this point and should be rooted in 7-10 days with a good root mass.. this is because you stop the auxins getting to the main apical tip of that branch and causes it to think its dieing therefor it roots...

clones will root best when they are as close to the conditions of the mother growing with a little more humidity.. But as long as you have a happy medium of air water and light.. If one of these is out it will have adverse affects... Clones also need fresh air flow to root so those that use the humidity dome the whole way thru are making life hard for themselves...

I never heard that in my life but I'm off to go do it in a sec.

Advice to trust for sure, I bet you've probably taken the most cuts anyone in Australai ever has.
