Pointers 4 the noobie

Recommended Posts

Iv just had a brainstorm!!!

I was thinking of covert Mj growing and thought to my self what’s to stop a dedicated stoner from setting up a grow, in a large, green , whealy bin. You could beat it up a bit and leave it out in the middle of your yard. Bury a cord and !Valla! you have a instant covert grow room!!!!!

Yes I have been drinking B)

My actual question today is what is the smallest size you can flower Mj wile still getting fair THC content? (I cant seem to find any information on this)

I dont think plant size is a determinant of thc quantity...you can flower a plant at 6 inches if you want to go for it sog style...youll just have less budding sites and depending on if you have a central cola or not...maybe smaller colas...

Ok well I have thought and thought and thought,

"How can I "

A. Keep my grow private

B. Keep my grow secure

C. Mask any noise made by cooling fans

And came up with the solution, My large office desk B) I am still drinking, but this is perfectly rational. There is a lot of unused space under the desk. With some creative thinking and a bit of carpentry I can convert a common desk into a "Blacko-desk" B). I propose to use Fluros to start the plants off in the side chambers, and other lighting in the back chamber. I am currently in the process of taking photos of my humble desk, so as I can demonstrate how I prepose to do this transformation. The beauty of this is I house my computer on top of the very same desk, it runs continually and has a very quiet fan. I can run some fans in the grow chambers, and pass the noise off as the computer ;). I will be attaching carbon filters to the bottoms of my fans to eliminate the smell. No one will ever be the wiser, as I am the only one who ever uses this desk.

Any comments?

Sounds good...just make sure you have plenty of airflow in and out fo your box and plenty of light and a decent watering system and youll be laughing....

Those carbon filters are expensive tho...even just the panel ones...like 30-40$ and they last fuck all

Maybe have a circulatory fan to strenghten the stalks if you can

I was planing on making my own filters. I think the whole Setup will cost be around $450 Including the timber. I was thinking I could regulate the lights, with one of those things you use to turn the TV and such on when your not home. (To persuade robbing little teenage fukwits  to stay the FUK OUTTA MY HOME). I done a fair bit of cabinet making when I was younger (Kitchens and such) so I think I can finish the whole "desk" very nicely. I was thinking in the space were you put the chair (the kickboard). I could hinge it and put some magnetic bar strips on to hold it there. This cut out would be how I would access my babies B). I plan on putting a fair amount of strong magnetic latches on so it would be very hard to open unless you knew how. I was thinking of drilling a small hole and making a hook (like a Allen key) to give me some leverage to open it. That’s all for to night im rambling now B)

I fashioned my computer desk to house mothers and clones when I was in Tasmania. It was freezing cold, and I needed a secure, warm enivronment to keep them. My desk is a large flat slab, with metal filing cabinet type draws down each side. There's a large gap for your legs to sit through.

I just cut a board that fit snuggly into the hole near my feet, set it back half way to alleviate any suspiscion. I have a light on the desk I left running, which difused the grow light under the desk, and as you said, the computer noise hid the fan noise. The board just had a small hole in the top for my finger to hook through and pull the sheet of masonite out.

I had a lot of people visit me in that house, and we often sat for meetings next to the desk, and no one was ever the wiser.

Go for it:)

Nice Setup hes got there hey

Well I got up into the roof today and took some measurements, as I was thinking flowering them up there. The good thing is that there is 2 bathrooms in the house, and both have one of those double light fan thingies. So I was thinking, Turn the fans on and I got all the fresh air I need. There is also a lot of air vents up there and it stays nice and cool so I don’t think I will need cooling fans . Onto of that the whole thing is lined with roofing Foil so I got a lot of reflection happening.

Ok from the expected floor to the roof, to the pinnacle there is 164 Cms . So I think that should be enough room for them to Flower nicely in. They can get as wide as they want up there ;) under the watchful eye of the "Ganjaa managa". There is power I can tap into as well...

I just have one concern If I grow them near the bathroom fans is the hot air going to make them make a smell? As not every one in the house turns the fans on when they have a shower

With out the fans on would the smell drift down into the house even when no one is using the bathroom?

Some days it can get very hot up there so on second thoughts I may put a fun up there to cool them any way. What weight would a fully potted plant get to?
