Wilderbud your problem is you've got a strange fetish for growing in different mediums and transplanting around.  Pick a medium from start to finish and don't transplant and I reckon you'd get better results.

Pipeman, I didnt plan on having my soil screwed up and I have picked a medium. Sphagnum moss and peat moss under flouro wasnt a good idea and Ive learnt about these mediums now. Ill be starting again in a few days with the right medium [i honestly though Id have healthy seedlings by now but fucked up using vermiculite instead of perlite - too bad, so sad and I can get over it].

 

Im fully aware of the consequences of transplanting but I had to do it to save my plants. Transplanting is never an option for me [i dont do it unless its inevitable].

 

Gnats have depressed me enough so I dont like taking about them - just when you think youve got a plan they come and screw you over - its disappointing.

 

PS. at least my fuckups will let others know what they can expect if they dont let the medium dry out [mostly organic medium AFAIK].
