Quick Drying

Recommended Posts

Ok, I just posted a post in the drying methods topic concerning how I do NOT dry at all. I have tried fast dry techniques but with little success. (That chlorophil is putrid stuff in ya grass I'll admit but after a while you do miss it.)

1/ In the Micro - NO, NO, NO! Big no-no in my opinion guys n gals. The intense heat kills the THC in ya grass people. I have tried drying it in small, medium and large amounts. (Large being about 1/2oz, small being a 3" bud or so). I tried drying it in the micro in 5, 10 and 20 second bursts with no success. I found it tastes really strongly of Chlorophil and you may as well smoke Guineau grass as far as potency is concerned. Even I cannot tolerate the taste!

2/ In the oven - Can be better than drying in the micro I must admit but similar story as far as end-product is concerned. Tastes 'leafy' and chlorophil can be somewhat over-whelming. Leave the oven open and every 30 seconds or so, give the buds a stir around on the tray. (Keep the heat low as high heat fries the oil onto the tray/pan or whatever utensil you are drying on and it is not tasty to scrape this stuff off to smoke. I know: I tried on several occassions.)

3/ Over a standard toaster - Best of all quick-dry methods in my opinion but only for small amounts (as much as you can fit in bottom of the home-made tray I am about to explain) and the last method that I can offer any feedback or advice on at this stage.

Everyone has got some Aluminium foil in their house somewhere. Tear off a strip and start folding it into a tray shape. Have a look at your toaster to see what dimension you have to work with. I found better results if you cover the bottom of your newly made tray with only what can comfortably cover the base (Leave them whole if possible. Remember this seems to work better for small amounts at a time) and push the lever down. When it pops up, give the buds a shuffle around to air a bit and place them in your 'mulling bowl/utensil. Chop them to preferred cut (Fine or course. Up to your taste.) And tip back into the toasting tray again and push the lever down again. When it pops up, wait again for a minute and stir around while the tray is still getting the heat from the toaster element which will be cooling quickly and back into the mull-bowl it goes to be spun or smoked. Don't try to scrape any little bits of oil that are baked onto the tray as the tray just tears but waste is minimal compared to the oven method in my opinion.

This process only takes about 5-10 minutes from start to finish and is still one of my favourites.

I hope this info is helpful. It is just my experience that I am sharing with all so feedback is welcome. I haven't tried any other quick-dry methods at this stage but give these a go if you must and happy dopeing! :o

Talk to you all soon!

Another good one is this:

wrap some bud in a tissue, and stuff it in the heater vent of your car and go for a 1 hour drive.Works OK.

Or, you can get one of those desk lamps with bendy steel stems that can be bent to about a couple of inches away from your buds, bet to chop them up a bit into smaller chunks.

If the sun is out put some bud in a envelope or something and put it on the dash of your car, make sure all the windows are up and the car is parked in a nice sunny position. I have not tried this in winter but in summer it takes around half the day, may taste shit (as with every quick dry method I think) but it will give u a buzz

Cheers
