Nimer's First Grow

Recommended Posts

What would happen if i left em in the pots there in and got root-bound to the shithouse would they still produce?

The plant would take on a listless look and the ends of the stems would lose strength and change their direction to down as the roots are slowly but surely choking the plant into a slow torturous, agonising death by self strangulation. In a lager pot the root system has room to expand and you get a more vigorous and healthy plant, which in turn is much more disease resistant and most importantly you are doing something to maximise the THC potential of the strain.

Nimer Mate!

Don't cut a thing... Im using a method of tieing the main stem down so its horizontal and all the branches grow up giving you a plant full of heads... I CBF explaing it cause im about to have some cones :P But goto OverGrow and look for SmoinRavs Supercropping Technique its in the FAQs I'll get a link for ya in a hour or so after I smoke this leaf i just trimmed off my plants :D

Is it bad to just trim a few leaves off my plants and smoke them? I know its not the best to cut leaves of them but only 2-3 and i cut them stragedically (sp?) to let more light onto a bud site under it!

Have fun im about to! :P

The leaves of your plant are the way it makes food. Removing them is going to starve it. And it will need to replace those leaves to return to the point you started at, which means slower growth, and sicker plants. All the energy of the plant will go into replacing what you've taken, and not into actually growing what you want.

The only times where removal of leaves is okay, is when the leaf is 50% or more damaged physically or dead. Maybe if the leaf is obviously dying too. Now, on the other side of things, here's a link to a very comprehensive scrog site, he advocates careul trimming of the fan leaf in the buds, to do what you say, allow more light to the buds. He is a large scale, professional grower mind, with what looks like years and years of experience and experimenting, to get the maximum yeild per sqare foot. So he knows how, when, and what to do in respect to this. I personally would not advocate this. The leaf is what is supplying the majority of sugars to the buds for growth, not the flowers. Think about it. If you really, really want a smoke, then keep one or two out of the group and just smoke this. This will allow the "real" crop a chance to get there before they're all slowly murdered. ::D:

i FIM mine but im new to growing indoors, in the wild i used to tip em young, i read that if your using scrog you tip em just as they hit the screen, either way the way i see it and someone plz correct me if im wrong,

If you tip it your gonna end up with more tips and more flowers BUT the overall yeild will still be similar as one left alone, I think the idea of tipping is valid if your worried about height, otherwise leave em alone.

Smokinravs Supercropping technique

Check out that link... Im doing the same thing and its amazing... my plants are like 20-40cm long and have about 20-30 bud sites on them and more and more every day, there is brances that had one bud site and a few days later they have 2-4 sites on them... And the best thing is because my stem is horizontal it makes it so all the buds will be heads... Just look at the link its much better explained there!
