I don't know I think the maximum image size for uploading here is about 100 kilo bytes... that's pretty big picture...esp for a jpeg..

 

One thing about a jpeg is that you can compress the image as much as you want... even to the point where it looks like a shadow...hehe.. or you can even leave totally uncompressed like a bmp except its still in jpeg format... what you need is an image manipulation program that gives you total control over everything... that's why I'm fond of the GIMP...

The GIMP Rocks.... Its an awsome image prog...

 

nimer..... if you want to download something a little smaller... I have 2 suggestions for you...

 

1. infran view... downlaod here ! ot a classic filer viewer married with clasic image resizer, etc etc etc ... er NOT as compresensive as the GIMP, but also only about 3 meg in size..

 

then there is..

 

2. LView and L View Pro download here !.. LView is a litle more of a tool than infran view... yet its still only around 4 -5 meg...

 

for instance.. I created a news paper add this one arvo real quick, and not thinking sent it to the editor, but hte dpi was set wrond... I wacked it in LView, and simply changed the res / dpi , without the image size changing at all.. set it and it went to typeset that arvo.... its quite compresensive for a little we proggy..

 

but if you want a full blow graphix suit... Go the GIMP....

hey nimer that .tif file don't work for me. Personally I just use paint, you can crop the picture or cut and paste the relavent part to another file. This usually does the trick. If not you can also use the stretch/skew option which also reduces file size.

I bought a ceiling fan this today.... ONly prob it is too strong 576Cubic metres an hour. anywase it has taken my temps from 100F to 80F so i guess it is doing its job ;-)

OK guys i think i ahve finally masterd resizing i used a programme called Jpeg Resizer (very origional isnt it) Lets ee if the pic works now ;-)

Looks like it worked this time, nice plants, you need to get your light a bit closer to the plants as they are stretching a bit and some are just about due to re-pot, the seedling may need a dome when the light is dropped too, a clear casserole/saucepan lid is what I use in that situation.

 

To set the light to grow height, start at 45cm/18" above the plants, hold your hand palm down level with the top of the plant for a few minutes. If it feels too hot on the back of your hand the light is too close, if cool then it's too far away. If it's pleasantly warm and it feels as if you could hold your hand there all day then it's OK.

The only reason the lights are so high at this time is cause i am more catering for the clones :-D the soil is now on the backburner doing its own thing :-D

 

 

WHat would u reacommend for a final pot size? As u can see i dont have much room! i ran out quite quickly. Seedling are doing great as well :-D

If you are growing 4' - 5' high (from media) I would say some 15 - 20 litre tubs for soil, with hydro you could get away with 30cm square pots.
