whats the best way to clone

Recommended Posts

It's interesting, I think I've tried every method known to man with cloning, and I haven't found a better way than this....

Soak rockwool blocks in half strength bloom, ph 5.5 overnite.Make sure your blade is clean and sterile - burn it if you have no cleaninig alcohol -very John Wayne. Take your cutting with at leat 3 but preferably 4 nodes on it.

Hold it in a bowl of water and recut about 2 cm below the lowest node. Cut off all the side branches except for the last pair and the grow tip. Trim the leaves left down to about half size. Pull block out of overnite soak, shake a little. Dip in clonex gel (purple) and also tip gel in hole in a rockwool block. Place in dome with all holes closed. Put on heat mat on timer, 15min on 15 min off cycling. Lights on 24 hours - flouro, grolux.

DO NOT SPRAY, NOT ONCE. Open lid twice a day and fan. Blow into lid to boost co2. That's it.

I just took cuttings from some new seedlings I'm about to sex, and they all took. A couple showed roots in 5 days. I forgot to mention I take the plastic off the blcks as well.

Happy cloning.

This is how swing does cuttings:-

equipment:-

Heat tray with thermostat

Green house with plastic top and side vents

Sharp scissor

Double fluro with growlux tubes

Materials:-

1 inch rockwool cubes with plastic wrap

"Root juice" (soft wood) Hormone

"Clone Accelerator" in a spray bottle

"Root Zone" hormone in distilled water with ph of 5.6

"Mega-thrive" cutting feeding mix in distilled water with ph of 5.8

Method:-

Put about 20ml of "root zone" water onto each cube

Cut of a flore top about 2 set of leaves down

Trim large leaves off or back

Dip into root juice and then straight into cube

Mist with clone accelerator, remist every couple of days

Place cude into greenhouse with lid on

Put greenhouse on heat tray on wet mat (keep mat damp)

Let sit for 8 hours before turning light on

Feed each cube every second day with 20ml "mega thrive" water mix

Take humidity hood off greenhouse after the second day

Leave light on for 16 hours only per day

Success rate is usually 90-95 percent and they show signs roots coming out of cube with 10-14 days.

Im taking clones from my plants that are 2 weeks in to flower, in the hopes that i can veg them under my compact fluro untill my harvest is done and then put them straight in to flowering,

I have brought something I have read about but never used- Dutch Master APS for soaking the cubes in and then use it to mist, apparently it lets the plant think it has roots,

has anyone used this??

and is taking clones 2 weeks into flowering the right time so that i can harvest and put these into flower.

I stuffed up though and its cost me, I brought the BIG clone blocks so used almost 1/2 a bottle to soak them, it says to throw the excess away so i guess my clones better bloody live!!!!!

They say the plastic is the first place mould forms on, and ive seen my plastic getting mould on it so now i always remove the plastic.
