Drip sytem TDS?

Pot Head

Recommended Posts

What should my TDS meter read ?

Drip System with 10 gal reservoir using DYNA GROW LIQUID GROW & BLOOM nutrients:

DYNA GROW LIQUID GROW 7-9-5

DYNA-GRO LIQUID BLOOM 3-12-6

My water should be about 5.8 - 6.0 ph

I cannot find anyone who gives the TDS averages?

Any input on PPM and EC would be helpful also, but please help as I have a new TDS meter!

TDS readings from 0 -1999 PPM

accuracy +/- 2%

WHAT SHOULD THE READING BE FOR THIS TYPE OF METER?

SHOULD IT BE HIGHER OR LOWER DURING VEGETATIVE AND FLOWERING STAGES?

if it doesnt say on the bottle what ur TDS,EC,CF should be than all u need to do is grab a 10L bucket fill with water grab the nutrients and a measuring cup mix up the nutrients to the bottle reccomendation give the bucket a good stir than dip one of ur meters in the nutrent if it shows up 1200ppm than that is full strength u can take it from there ie: early veg 1/4th strength (assuming its reading 1200ppm full strength than u should be aiming for a reading of 300ppm for small seedling/just rooted clones)

you need to check what the conversion rate from EC to PPM is for the meter, what type of meter is it? and can you set the conversion rate?

when i first got my meter i mixed my nutes up to 1200PPM as i was in flower, started to get tip burn from to strong of a nute mix, when i checked it was running a conversion of 1 EC = 500 PPM so my 1200PPM mix was actully had an EC of around 2.4 way to strong for the strain im growing, thinking it should be set to 1 EC = 700PPM but not being quite sure i rang the number on the advanced nutrients bottle and asked them, and for their nutrient the numbers on the bottle in PPM are set for 1 EC = 700 PPM so i changed the conversion rate, added more water and bought back down to a real 800PPM kept them there for a few days then went back to 1200PPM and no problem.

So it can bet a bit tricky as different countries use a different conversion for EC to PPM so you realy need to figure out what the conversion rate is and what the conversion rate for the nutrient is as well.

on a side note the bloke at advanced nutrients told me that they are going to start printing 1EC=700PPM on the bottles.

any how i would say that you are correct 1.7 would be under 1000 running at 500PPM and just on 1100 running at 700PPM conversion rate.
