"Mango buds" here in Oz in mid 90s

Recommended Posts

Growing up in N.Q I have seen & smoked a couple of mango-type strains in the late 80's & early 90's but never grown any....I do remember that it was really sweet to smoke with an almost psychedelic stone....also seen & smoked some New Guinea Gold, awesome stuff....used to see some Thai sometimes as well, really sticky chocolate flavoured stuff....never had any seeds in it 4 me tho...LMAO....there's a couple of commercially available mango strains....Kerala Krush from the Flying Dutchman (I nearly bought this strain....next year maybe....)....and there's Somango from Soma Seeds as well....

I smoked some beautiful mango bud in nthrn subs of Sydney in 2003. We got a random bag and to our pleasant surprise when we opened it an immediate smell of mangoes filled the room. We took out the bud and it was filled with tiny orange flowers unlike any i've seen on any other weed. The flowers had small yellow centres and smelt strongly of mango.

We hit the weed and indeed it tasted like mangoes!

It looked, smelt and tasted very tropical and was a very pretty bud to look at opposed to a thick, pungent, gnarly looking bud.

Do any knowledgeable growers possibly know the strain I was fortunate to stumble across??

Cheers, M
