Yeah I used to get mango from some Vietnamese friends around the Warwick/Girawheen area in the mid 90s - only got the real stuff once or twice then everyone called their buds mango for the next few years no matter what they were. Some of the guys even started selling "pillow buds" - light, fluffy trim... Gotta love marketing ;-)

I was also fortunate to sample Mango, but it was back in the 80's moreso, about the same era i also got to try proper thai stick and PNG Gold. All 3 strains were killer weed from that era. But ya got fk all chance of tracking any of em down nowadays. I've spent the last several months trying to chase up all 3 of em, but tend to hit a brick wall everytime. It seems some breeders have them, but don't want to share with the rest of us, or their purely full of shit and don't have the beans at all. Plus as we discussed back in chat a lil while back, most growers tend to be leaning towards the indica's because they suit indoors better and hava quicker finishing time then the sativas. All the 3 strains i mentioned are sativa's which take some time to mature, especially thai which has tendency to throw hermie in it's later stages.

I did order "KC Brains Mango" I think i read somewhere it was a Cannabis Cup winner. But they got intercepted by customs along with the rest of the goodies a couple of months back. But KC Brains Mango is a indica, so kinda confuses the hell outta some peeps, myself included. As i'd imagine the Mango most people are talking about in this thread is a sativa strain. But like previously said, Mango of that era was truly a strain above most, that alot of peeps would've passed a lot of weed off as it, which has added to the confusion for some.

But yeah, if anyone stumbles onto any of the 3 i have mentioned above. Shoot us a PM, and i'll resume my mission of sourcing some great strains of the past... :peace:

Indy- i heard some1 mention something about PNG Gold once.. i heard thats a killer strain with Huge yield.. True.?

I my self have tryed a few Thai/S'E Asian strains and thai stick.. which got me fuckd.. i picked up a nice looking american girl and after i smoked i had no interest in her and my eyes were as red as satan

Yea i think all the people who dropped names and used mango had an instant sale in that time

The few PNG Gold plants i seen yonks ago were very good yielders, about half a dozen between 6-12 ft. The main colas were about as round as your forearm on the powering plants, but once manicured and cured, the average buds size was 6-8inch and as round as your thumb. Prolly averaged a pound or more per plant.

I seen a pic on another site, i'll see if i can russle it up... :peace:

EDIT: found it..
