aeroponics plans needed

Recommended Posts

bloody hell! many thanks for all the replies people..very much apreciated.

sorry the question appeared a little vague...few years ag one of me mates used a system made by ikon called an "airmonster" basically a nice neat little aero system, over n under jobby..grow chamber at the top,res at the bottom..4 360 degree spinner sprinklers..he bought 4 and put em to work..really quite astonishing growth but he wasnt able to do the system justice due to only a week in veg 7 weeks flower 5 plant sites and got 12oz dry which aint so bad..only problem was,i never got to pull the thing apart and getr a butchers at the plumbing.most hydro systems are buckets with tubes in..but soem are more idiot proof than others..used deep pod F+d before with air stones..worked nicely but didnt give me the growth i expected..tweake dit over a coupla grows simple reliable but not quite what i was looking for...

my circumstances have changed a bit so my space is limited..gonna cab it..so lookin for a fairly simple system to get busy with..just kickin around a few ideas cos its nearly crunch time.

cos itl be a cab grow obviously want to make the most of the few square feet il be using so scrogging will be the one..few of me mates use DWC in a cab which works well but im a bit concerned about res temps, probably put the re outta the main area,i gotta 400w air cooled lamp and 125mm lti exhaust fan to chuck in there, just gonna do 2 girls and try n hit as close as i can to the 1g/w to make it worth me while..tall order but im game!

any seasoned cab growers amongst us here ?

really appreciate the input folks thanks again:)

and to pipe man..pardon me for my lack of clarity,il try to be less generic next time :applause: heheh but thankyou for your input all the same.

peace all and good grows to ya.

SL:)

thanks man.

the "air monsta 5" was made by grow australia its exactly the way chato and your self described not the best system they sell/sold think it was $185? or that might have just been an add on kit for the amount of room per plant better off with NFT IMO anyways there are way more cheaper aero systems u can use 1x 50L res tub with lid put the pots in the top and use a fountain pump with the fancy spray fittings that come with the pump u can customise it to suit your needs this is another commercial aero system made by R & D Aquaponics but again expensive for what u get take a trip to bunnings you'll have this system for $60-$80

hey stagger nws mate

i used semi hard plumbing from water pump which was average to medium size to an elbow which then joined a rigid straight piece with a screw cap for me mister. i only used one mister placed in the center of the tub and had two plants. if doin again i'd go one plant and put the mister slightly to one side, maybe one on each side but more misters bigger the pump and in aero it's finer the spray that counts not how much you soak the roots.

if you want to have multiple sprayers in there i'd suggest runnin 19mm from the pump and reducin to 4mm or 6mm soft tubing with grommets and screw on mister heads.

water level in grow tub is always kept as low as possible, pump up drain down constantly. want to minimize roots sittin in the nutes at the bottom of the tub as much as possible and to this end it's sometimes good to put 2 drains.

good luck

ahh your a gentleman..ta very much mate very helpful.

im not in oz...closest ive got to your neck of the woods is Bali..go there every year..im a whingin pom:)

we're alright really..heheheheheh

ive found some excellent misters that are used in the amazon aero system can run 4 of a 1000lph pump very fine misters, small droplet size..lookin forward to givin it a go..im probably gonna be a chicken and knock up the rig and thne let one of me mates with more space run it up as a side line to iron out any teethin probs.

so i guess the next logical step is to ask do you un the mister(s) 24/7 or run it in cycles? and finally is it as noisy as i expect?

once again cheers very much.

haha handball it to your buddy so you can blame him for the fuck-ups i like ya style bro. mister timin is really dependant, like anything i guess on your system although you are going to have to run it frequent and it will depend on timers available to you. if you can get short range timers than you can mess around with 3 mins on 2 mins off that sort of thing but if none available like that just run 24/7 but watch your roots aren;t gettin too soaked and you've got adequate drainage. the 15min on/off timers most widely used in hydro ae just too long a downtime for aero imo esp once roots get big. best of luck.

peace
