I think that getting a bill of rights for the Australian people would be the most sensible first step to legalising.

 

At least then we have the right to discuss and protest as much as we want without risking being raided and locked up.

OS is hosted in the US, and at the moment the site isn't breaking any laws, but legislation could very easily be passed to make internet sites educating people on how to conduct illegal activities, well, illegal. Remember we have no freedom of speech laws in Australia and in some states there are already laws making printed information on cannabis cultivation illegal and punishable by jail time, so its only a matter of time before this is extended to the internet IMO.

 

Overgrow has zero relevance to us or online communities in general , they where busted because they supplied seeds to countries where they knew it was illegal to do so , With overgrow you are not refering to just an online forum , you are refering to a multi million dolallar entiprise, The same happened with the hive , all the info they had printed was overlooked and he was never charged however what he was chaged with was runnign a chemical company under a false identity

 

as for the laws being changed to make information illegal I can't see it happening , if anything we will only get more freedom of speach , religion and press due to the fact that we are gettign ever more " multi cultural"

 

I have been involved in what many would call the dark side of the internet for quite a long time , and I have not seen many servers taken down by authorities that where not breaking other laws blatently, Many of these beign a much larger threat and issue than any online cannabis community .

 

As an experiment you shoudl try and report a website that is showing some snuff images or video's , you will not even here back from the internet watch dogs for close to a month and at that time they will just say thanx.

 

Places like this are very valuable for growers and government officials alike , provided you follow the rules we have in place here your gonna be fine , even if the day ever comes that our server is taken which i don't belive woudl ever happen I have made it so that none of you have anythign to be concerned about as none of your posts or files are tied to valid ip addresses .

 

In the end though you are as safe as you make yourself , if your sending sensitive info via Pm and not usign the self destruct function then you can't expect that info to be protected shoudl somone get the server or into yoru account

I happen to be a citizen of the US and am acting out my right as a US citizen to run this website , with that said though we are aware of the possible angles that could be used in the future , which is why you will notice a few changes to ozstoners in the upcomming months , the main change we are plannign to make is to bring to site to a more world wide audience ,

although we will still always be an site that was created to serve the australian cannabis community we feel it is time to open our horizons and try and target ourselfs at a more global audience , which will in turn stop any government authority claiming that we are targetign our information towards people in countries where freedom of information could be comprimised sometime in the future .

 

we have quite a few ideas of what's to come for us , however giving out anymore info will just spoil the suprise's we have in store

The filtering of information is a totally different topic and yes it is somehting we will likely have to look out for in the future and even in todays time when your runnign on anykind of corperate network however this new way of policing is not gonna be used on cannabis cultivators to pioneer it, it will be used on people that they see are a real problem like terrorists , child porn viewers and likely music/video pirates, in the big picture of things cannabis cultivators like we have here are not exactly causing the government all that many problems nor effecting their everyday life so it is my belife that we are going to have a fair bit of warning before that kind of thing happens and effects us in anyway, and if that day comes in my time as admin here I will be ready for it and ready to get around it to make you all safe

 

I have plenty of ideas for the future as far as idea's to get you guys even safer in your all round comunication over the net , however it all takes time and money to get there.

Plus if the LEO's have any sort of brains they will see that we are actually helping to reduce the income of the organised crime syndicates, maybe not by a great deal but with every new personal grower it is several thousand dollars a year and as most of these new growers finds it to be very easy to do then it becomes a permanent loss of black market income.

 

There will certainly be more than one Black Domina in my next grow, it's almost like being a newbie stoner again.
