Control your cannabis - Temperature and EC

Australia gets cold temperatures too

I know here in QLD it has been below 10 degrees nearly every night for the last 6 months.

This winter was espescially cold.

It definately applies to Aussie growers, because I have experience this phenomenon myself with my own plants. Upwards leaf angle during the warm days and downwards on cold nights.

I have also had a plant (the one I just harvested from outside) turn a purple tinge from the cold.

cheers mate

Its been down to 5-6 overnight of late on the east coast of nsw , I had a issue with my grow room in outside shed getting down to 13-14 degrees which was holding back the growth rate and had a LOT of purpleing of stems. Ive been using a heater during lights on period and the growth rate has picked back up although I'll be turning them 2 weeks after I had planned.

As you can see in the photo the purple is the old growth and the bright green all the new.

Relevant, but not as relevant as we might imagine. It's only in the coldest winter months that we have temps like this, and usually this can be remedied with some alterations to the growroom in ventilation and heating.

That said, if you really wanted to dial in production you could do very well by utilising some of these methods. For practicality though, it's usually best to just ensure there is a small drop in temp from day to night, and keep temps within the 20-30 range.

High , ...

Yep , I agree ... :peace:

It certainly does get cold In Oz , and I tend to find that there is a much greater difference in Day/NighTemperature , In Oz , In Winter ... (30+Degrees on those Summer nights is hard sometimes. lol),

So (Sorry that last sentence wasn't worded to well B)) , .. Basically , The whole article made sense to me , In that , The temperatures vary differently naturally , and the plants growing in these different enviroments ... produce different Traits in their growth.

Winteries / Summeries - Difference.

lol

Surely controlled temperature is involved in the finality at some stages , in all consumable products.

:toke:

Again I have forgotten where I was Going with this (no really , It was a good one) :) , so This is all 4 Now...

Thanks for bringing this to my attention stonedstump, lol , I like this theory and will probably use it this grow. I have had a lot of temp problems also this winter, my room got as low as 10c i have since purchased a heater control thermostat so I should be able to put this into action. I just hope it does not affect my electricity bill to much. lol I have set my the heater to keep the temp above 15c at the moment.. that should be ok for the veg cycle?
