ebay items air pump and powerhead

Hi everyone I want to grow 4 plants in around a 60L or 80L tub (what do you guys recommend?) and am wondering what should I do.

 

Should I buy this 1200L 4 outlet air pump and 2 x 45cm air curtains

or should I buy this 2300L p/h powerhead, they are both the same price

Which would you guys use for my setup?

 

What is the disadvantage of using a powerhead or disadvantage of air pump and air curtains?

i would probably go for the big one with the single outlet and have it setup right infront of where the water pump sucks up the water so it gets the air too but then again with the 4 outlet one you could have it coming out in 4 places at once which might be better im of no help

I have purchased a different pump.

 

The guy selling that air pump I posted above is trying to flog them for $25 as a 1200L per hour pump but it's only 15w which equals around 500-600L per hour.

 

Bloody rip off merchants.

 

I have now instead purchased for $55 including postage, an AquaOne (same brand as my other pump) 12000cc 1900L p/hr 4 outlet pump.

 

And two 60cm air curtains to go with it.

 

I will be running a tub of 4 plants from it.

Hi stonedstump, from what ive heard the powerheads dont produce enough air for a res ok for a fish tank. Soon hydor is bringing out a bigger unit this one may have the power needed.

 

Nothing wrong with the 4 outlet i have the same one but in 8 outlet, is abit loud but does the trick, only run 2 stones off her meaning double up the air lines to one stone..

 

If you need a big pump look for pond pumps they often have a single larger outlet 13mm that you can attach a splitter to for upto 16 stones. some of these larger claim to be silent opperation(forget the name) a real bonus for indoor
