to flush at the end or not?

Recommended Posts

hi ive never flushed with plain water at the end. ive always used nutes right up until the day i pull em. ie to day 56

if your growing purely for yield, is it beneficial to flush with plain water at the end? if so for how long? 3 or 7 days.

i was thinking that by not using nutes for the last week, you were potentially limiting the maximum yield as they would be missing out on that last week of growth

if you are growing purely for yield, then generally speaking you'd be growing marijuana to sell some or all of what you grow...with that in mind, you owe it to the people smoking the buds to flush them out because they will end up smoking all kinds of chemicals and shit that are not good for the body :peace: not only that, flushing reduces the green and chemical tastes you get when you dont flush so the end product is far more desirable :peace:

now while you might lose out in the final yield because you didnt give them nutrients in the last week or 2, the plant will use up the nutrients it has stored up + what ever nutes remain in the medium so the loss in yield isnt all that much....but when you consider the fact your buds will be far more desirable because of the flushing, you will make up for any loss in yield

I would go for at least 5 days with PH 6.0 water, the growth stage is over and the flowers are "ripening" with age, there are plenty of stored nutrients to support the plant for longer than 5 days. The purpose of flushing is to force the plant to use the chemical nutrients up as much as possible as they seem to impart a taste and are usually thought to be the cause of that headache that you can get with hydro mj that hasn't been flushed.

no, you do want the plant to take up the excess nutes and use em up. if your waters pH is variable during flush your plant will (-could) continually be taking up new nutrients.

i always flush minimum 2 weeks, maximum the plants entire growth cycle. :toke:

for the record, unflushed buds are bad for you, others, taste etc.

Hey Keepleft ,

Yes Minimum of Two weeks man. Dont worry about ph (Unless ur water is really fkd! ok) just clean pure water.

Boil and cool it if u like.

:toke:

All Marijuana has chemicals and nutrients contained within , If hydro is not flushed properly , When smoked all sorts of oxide can enter the lungs and do damage. When flushed it greatly decreases these harmful substances.

Your Plant will store enough Nutrient to survive months! (needsWater ofc.)

Ok I hope this helps. (Infinitee is right) ;)

:peace: peace out man. :bleh:

so you DO adjust the ph when flushing at the end?

well if you use the incorrect pH when flushing, it will lock out the plants ability to use nutrients properly, but then again that shouldnt really matter all that much considering it should trigger the plant to use what stored nutes it has :toke:

bastard, now you got me thinking about it ;)

I agree with 3 days minimum up to 5-7 days but as for the chemicals - aren't you jokers forgetting something ?

What do you think you are mixing the mj with - fuck me - you are committing suicide just using the tobacco dudes !

All I am saying is get it into perspective eh ! :toke:
