A Big Reason for Marijuana Prohibition

Recommended Posts

One of the main reasons for the prohibition of marijuana, given that it seems these days that people can do it a good deal of the time in the privacy of their own home, is to make it socially unacceptable in the general community. The present level of the law enforcement on this matter results in it's relative acceptance for home use: mainly because the prisons aren't big enough to imprison all of the users, but it is not acceptable for public use or even intoxication (even if the drug was consumed at home). The design of all this is to make being under it's influence in public socially unacceptable. Hence: it is "bad" to drive while stoned on cannabis. This is regardless of the scientific question of whether it actually impairs said ability!! (I personally don't think it is bad to.) Or, it's "bad" to be at work while stoned on cannabis. Take some examples of this latter one: "Would you like to be operated on by a doctor who is stoned?" Ha-ha, get fucked. Well, not particularly, on the other hand I can't be hypocritical and say that I can use it for my work, which is as a musician and an amateur physicist, and a doctor can't so I suppose I would have leave it up to them. But, I would have thought that the choice of use would also matter on whether or not one's duties for one's job are actually enhanced by the properties of the drug. Maybe not so in the case of being a doctor. For musicians and artists though, and such other people who use their brain for their work , (no offence to doctors, but) like physicists and the like I would say: bloody well yes, absolutely. In the particular case of myself I would say "Yes." to this most of the time, for these sorts of jobs anyway! For working down at the service station, probably not; I figure: why waste it, it's not going to help. On the other hand, if it were legal maybe I would sometimes!? Who knows?

What a scary thought: to be stoned at work; scary to the prohibitionists. But fear is what the prohibitionists specialise in. Try this for hysteria: "if you smoke cannabis it increases your likelihood of getting schizophrenia." This is a way of saying that it gives you schizophrenia. But anyone who has smoked it without having the disease either before or after knows that it doesn't give you schizophrenia! There may be a few who say that it has given them or their child the disease. But these must be so few that they are limited to the tiny number who are actually payed by the government to say this. That's why we see a concerned father on "Today Tonight" walking through a cannabis rally asking if anyone they knew had "had problems with cannabis." Well, I've had a few problems with cannabis and I can tell you what it is: it's with the government fucking taking away my legal right to buy it or grow it or sell it or smoke it in public, (like all the tobacco smokers do by the way, and in my face as well!) Anyway, that last sentence was just an aside! These, what would you call them, "whistle-blowers" or "stooges" who say that it "gave me schizophrenia", or "my son" are payed to say these things on the tele. I mean, they get payed for it as per the normal deal but they don't think of it as being payed to lie. They've just convinced themselves of this theory about they're loved one and are going to parrot it from the roof-tops until they're blue in the face and have convinced themselves of this culprit for their ills and made lots of money selling the story to New Idea, which is owned by "Kerry Packer" types who don't like the smell of marijuana!

This strategy is clever because it focuses on "the particular danger to adolescent brains", but you know, it may be possible that the particular substance cannabis doesn't have a detrimental effect on developing adolescents. Having said that such a thing may be possible in general, but I think with other substances. This aspect of the strategy is to delay the realisation in the youth for as long as possible that everything their parents told them, everything the government told them too, about marijuana is bullshit. The purpose of this is to encourage uniformity and conformance to the societal norms of the day, one of which is keep you and your dope at home! Well: fight the power!! (I don't know how to actually do this but it sure does make for a good rally cry!! Anyway, he-he.)

They say that marijuana "decreases your concentration". Well, I think that it improves it. They say that marijuana impairs your "short-term memory". Well I wouldn't say that, and I've had it, wow. Yes, even one time is enough for one to realise this. (Hence, there is the danger of taking it one time: oh no: it takes one time to notice that the government and your parents (by-and-large at least) are bullshitting you about the properties of pot. Big danger there!) They say that it "leads to lack of motivation". But, I believe it motivates you!

Drug prohibition is the drag man.

I'm thinking of a) creating a list of prohibitionists, to include their strength of punishment. Then, B) introducing a conspiracy to commit prohibition charge to the Parliament, which will bring about their incarceration in a concentration camp. Death to prohibitionists would be too harsh. Unless, they wish death for drug dealers and/or drug users. Then it would be fair. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and that sort of thing. For the rest of them probably just a term of incarceration in a prison camp unless they say, smoke joints: one for every day they are sentenced to and/or renounce drug prohibition and say sorry. Personally, I would take the joints first, then renounce prohibition and then leave.

That's how to fight the power.

Yesterday, after reading thru the forums, I was seriously considering making an $800 odd investment in a "Volcano" or perhaps $350-400ish on a vriptech VCB setup with the High Performance Vapourisation Water Tool Pro Model (bong? :detective2:), etc. This because I love my pot and I like the idea of a cleaner, safer method of partaking.

Today, I'm considering rehab. Clearly pot IS harmful to your health.

You're a lunatic mate. I see a medium security psychiatric facility in your not-to-distant future... lmao

Actually, I apologise for the "Death" remark, in my above post.  I wouldn't want death for anyone since two wrongs don't make a right, and would probably settle for a truce with these drug warriors.  Peace.    :thumbsup

Fuck 'em dude....just fry 'em :detective2:
