I start flushing tomorrow and in two weeks all but the B'shen get the chop, she still has another 4 - 5 weeks to go.

That is the way Tasmanian law operates, don't know if it applies on the north island.

I'm not sure if I'd want to keep my lights if busted. The cops would know that you had that other plant in there just to keep your lights to grow again, so you might get another visit. Maybe not in Tas, but up here in Qld I know someone who got his house searched again 5 years after he got busted.

Yeah, the cops are getting that way here that if some low-life scum wants the cops to raid someone then he/she has to tell them that the grower/user is dealing in narcotics and the cops are getting pissed off with what they are beginning to view as hoax calls, they are even giving out advice on how to keep your equipment if you get a return visit.

 

A 2002 case from the Tas Supreme Court, cannabis cultivation/dealing charges alone usually only draw a suspended sentence.

 

Person, you are for sentence upon your own plea of guilty to one count of selling a prohibited plant, namely Indian hemp and to one count of selling a narcotic substance, namely amphetamine. Sentence is to be imposed upon the basis that with respect to the narcotic substance, you had it in your possession for sale after you acquired it by giving the vendor an unregistered motor vehicle you owned. In addition, on 13 October, you actually sold five small sachets of the drug and, further, when the police attended your premises on 18 October, you had amphetamine in your possession for sale. With respect to cannabis, sentence is to be imposed on the basis that for about 12 months preceding 18 October last year, you sold approximately one half of an ounce of cannabis to others.

I accept, because it is plainly so, that you are properly described as a small time seller of amphetamines and cannabis and that you engaged in this unlawful activity in order to keep yourself supplied with both these drugs. I am told by Mr Meyer, and I accept it of course, that you only sold these drugs in a close knit community, but of course as soon as drugs are on the market for sale, there arises the risk of them spreading into the wider community.

You are aged 48 years and have been before the courts on a number of occasions. You have quite a record of convictions for offences of dishonesty but, more importantly, you have quite a number of convictions for offences involving drugs. In 1984, you were convicted of supplying cannabis and being in possession of certain drugs. You were fined on that occasion. Two years later, you were given a one month suspended sentence for selling cannabis. Three years after that, you were convicted of being in possession of amphetamine and sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment Then in 1994, you were twice before the courts on a number of offences, including growing cannabis and being in possession of that prohibited plant and other materials. On the second occasion that year, you were again given a one month wholly suspended sentence of imprisonment. It seems to me that those court orders have had absolutely no effect on you as a personal deterrent and it is time the courts enforced the law by imposing a sentence of actual imprisonment.

In fixing a sentence of imprisonment I do take into account your very early plea of guilty because it has facilitated the orderly administration of justice, and I do take into account the matter that Mr Coates just mentioned to me namely, that but for your co-operation with the police, you may not be facing these more serious charges. Nonetheless and notwithstanding that, as I say, the total failure of you to be deterred by previous orders needs to be addressed.

The orders of are a conviction on both counts on the indictment, and a sentence of four months' imprisonment to date from this day.

The bubble-gum is now harvested, trimmed, dried and packed in containers for curing, I will sample some in a couple of weeks. The yield was 19 and a bit dry ounces, 4 - 5 ounces down on expected and the heads were looser than usual, I would have to attribute this to my using Monster Bud for a major part of their flowering, I must in all fairness say that I was not using their nutrients and this could have also been the problem.

 

The SPC B'shen is still going strong, being a Sativa dominant it was still in the early stages when I switched back to Add Budd, the heads on this are probably the most solid ones I have come across yet and they are still increasing their size, harvest is still a few weeks off yet.
