DOG DRUGBUSTERS

 

QUEENSLAND police will soon be armed with four new drug sniffer dogs.

 

Police Minster Tony McGrady said yesterday the dogs - capable of detecting drugs such as cocaine and heroin - would join two dogs already on the job.

 

Bea and Bodie, who were part in 238 drug searches since May, with 206 of those proving successful.

 

"Over a two day period in December, they were involed in five searched, with drugs such as ecstasy and amphetamines discovered." Mr.McGrady said.

 

"The four new dogs will target the Mr.Bigs and will be involved in work arising from execution  of search warrants and in cross-border operations."

 

So those on pot drives to Nimbin from QLD, better watch out for these sniffers, when they drive back from NSW border. lol
