Superbud or Rockjuice???

Man, you guys like your poisons. PGR's suck!! Concentrate on a decent environment and good nutrition and I can promise you that's how you achieve big yields... PGR's will only increase yields for very average growers - otherwise they are likely to reduce yields.

 

Plant Growth Regulators.... stops the plant from stretching.

 

Personally I've never used a PGR, only a flower "booster" (PK13/14, Manutec).

My opinion is that "gman" is right - PGRs/Boosters make very little difference in a dialled-in system (i.e. optimum conditions). The use of PK13/14 on the same strain of plant in same condition compared with a grow without - made only a 10% difference in my yields (same bud/smoke quality).

 

I'll try using a booster again (Trying DM's next time around), but thus far I reckon good "regular" nutes and conditions are far more important than a bloom-booster... maybe if you were growing a higher number of plants than myself it'd be worth it.

Excellent Advice Ferengi, and I think a good explination of where you would use a PGR as opposed to a flowering-booster.

 

But yeah, as stated, I'm still uncovinced that all these boosters on the market are really worth the money - My bet is it's only worthwhile for those who SOG large numbers of plants whereby a 10% increase is 4-5 oz, not 12grams.

 

Anyone else got any feedback? Is it really worth spending $25 on a 600ml bottle of PK13-14 or DM Potash+ if your only growing 2-3 plants?

I just used Pk a few days ago .... so I'll be watching here for any other replies to your question on its value in a grow of only a few plants - one of the 3 is an unknown sativa that I think will be good to stop stretching .... I think thats what the megabud is for .. so if i got it right Megabud is a PGR

PK 13-14 is now a standard part of my feeding regime, it has done well by me up to now, in my experience Superbud is a waste of money unless you need to stop the plants stretching in a confined area.

I havent used superbud ... its megabud ... maybe the same product/diff name for all I know - and I guess I do have a need to stop the stretch on my satti girl ... you were right, she loves the new light ... the development in 36 hours is visible.... and she needs to be encouraged to stop going up ... I'll try and tie her back next flush :scratchin

Hey Eikel the 10% increase was it mass or densisty? I've found PK bulks out my bud like nothing else and $25 is great value compared to some of the other shite on the market. I made up a weak mix and gave some to my buddy to dose up a few little cast off clones he had flowering in soil on his balcony and the little wispy buds turned into mini nuggets. I'm still not convinced about Rockjuice though, used it for the last 3 or 4 grows but i might leave out this time and see what happens. I like the fact it's organic though.

BIG Indica was the strain - the 10% comment was on the plants dry yield.

 

I grew a BI in CoCo under 800w's and yielded 11.6 oz. A friend of mine grew the a clone of the plant in the same conditions (coco, 800w), except he used PK13-14 (provided by me, I was trying it out for the first time), and yielded a bit over 12.5 oz.... 10% was generous I think

 

I used it the current grow and my last grow, didn't impress me then either.

 

Anyway, I've seen HEAPS of other people who love the stuff - maybe I just got a bad batch, but it didn't impress me in the least (compared to the price-tag, $25 - I could've bought another 2-part nute mix for that).

 

I'd say if you use it and like your results keep going with it. For me, it's too expensive to warrant using.... maybe it works better in other mediums apart from CoCo?
