Topping a Plant 1. Locate the very top of your plant and cut through the main stem just below the newest growth. This should be done after the 3rd or 4th leaf set but can be done at any time after the 3rd leaf set. 2. Shows Plant Top cut off and where the 2 new Branches that will form a "Y" in the main stem will grow from. 3. Shows the newly topped plant after 2 days of growth, notice the Y in the Stem Forming. FIMMING A PLANT! Fimming is actually no different that topping, what fimming does is virtually the exact same thing only your leaving part of the new growth. This only takes of part of the new growth and actually topping the very very new growth which is…

Hey ppl... I got a Question, i wanna go away for new years for 5-7 days and leave my plant without monitoring... what should i do before i leave to ensure my plant is still alive upon my return??? IE: my 3 plants are in a 1,4m X 1,1m box made of chipboard with a 100mm extractor fan and a 600w sodium lite + ballast (placed in a very moist basement below a restaurant) the floors are always moist and the area is generally cold and damp & there are no lights or general ventilation, but the room is pretty big [say 8m x 8m] is this good???

I have a 25 watt uv sterilizer for aquariums The water is slowly pumped thru a sleeve that exposes it to the light. They are very effective at killing all types of micro organisms. Any opinions if uv light can affect or change the chemical makeup of the fertilizers? Seems These hydro systems use low flow rates making a uv unit like this very effective. One thing comes to mind .A uv would require constant water flow. Any thoughts? PS I still think a spray bar is more effective than air stones at oxygenating water.

This is my first time attempting to build a grow box. I need some general tips on how to ventilate the grow box. i aslo need to know what would be the best light to use that i could pick up from a hardware store. I have had a few tips from different places when it comes to lighting. but i just seem to get more confused. I do not have alot of money so the cost must stay low.

Hi. I ahve two questions regarding growing weed hydrponically. Firstly, Perth laws mean that you can have two non hydro plants with a fine and all that. What are the laws for hydro weed around the country? And also, for the actual growing, iv found a site that sells kits, everything you need to grow apparently, i was wondering if anybody has had experience with anything similar and could comment on the product: http://www.ezhydrokit.com/product_info.php...cts_id=136& Thanks Js&Rs

Hey guys, I just found your forum. I hope you don't mind, I would like to show you my Aero Space Shuttle. I grew in DWC for a couple of years and got tired of lifting tubs of water so I wanted to have a system with a drain. I designed this aero system for ease of operation. It was pretty expensive, but worth it all, to me. The 6" pvc tubes are 36" long. The grow space is 3'X3' http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x140/earlon3rd/000_884.jpg There are cross flow tubes to keep the nutes the same level in both tubs. I wanted drains, so i didn't have to do any lifting. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x140/earlon3rd/000_0949.jpg http://i184.photobucket.c…

Got myself an Aqua One 500L/M water pump and hook it up today, everything works fine but my 3 perlite growing pots start to rise up and float after the pump has been running for about 30secs. Would this be due to the pressure? How can I stop this?

I purchased a couple of AeroGardens several months back. After growing lettuce, tomatoes, and lots of herbs I started to wonder if I could grow weed. I have ordered a magazine from High Times that gives the details of growing with the AeroGarden. Has anyone used the AeroGarden?

It has a 48" air bubbler line that will run beneath all the root pots, and an additional air stone in the res. http://i36.tinypic.…
