Hey everyone. I am not very good when it comes to hands on practical skills etc. Thankfully my brother has set up a hydroponics system in my room. It is only 1.2m x 1.2m on the base, but has a 1000w light. I was told by the hydro shop that 1000w for such a space will fry the plants (too hot), but we have done some tests and while the recommended maximum using the lighting calculator is 930w, we have tested the temperature and it doesn't get too hot. I also have air conditioning which our tests have shown dramatically reduce the grow room temperature if needed. I know next to nothing about this. My brother is showing me the way. however my brother has only ever use…

G'day All, I realise that this question probably comes down to strain specific, however, can anyone offer me a general rule of thumb for stretching capacities of sativa and indica strains? I have just switched these ones to 12/12 yesterday. 2 on the left are mango ( papaya ) - mainly indica strain, and the one on the right is an OG haze x skunk - mainly sativa, and was curious as to whether the sativa is going to " outstretch " the indica, and if so, how to combat this? Apologies for the bluriness - mobile phone + the shakes. THCME

I'm considering setting up a small hydroponics operation, say 3-5 plants, in my parents house. There is a perfect area, the right size, in a disused and hard to get to basement where i'm 100% sure my parents never go and will not notice anything. The only problem is; i'm wondering how much having a small hydroponics setup will cost on our electricity bill, for it its too much of a spike my parents are sure to know. Can anybody tell me roughly how much a small hydroponics setup will cost? much appreciated.

Hi all, just been reading integral hydroponics. The author says that he prefers to have smaller but numerous plants. I have heard some people prefer a couple of large plants rather than numerous small ones. Which would be amoretti eficient and higher yielding way provided all our factors(temp, humidity etc) are ideal? And what would be the best time? How many weeks for veg and how many weeks for flower. I am currnetly on 5 veg and 8 flower any feedback will be greatly appreciated

hi all, my grow room is not to high, about 6foot. i have 2 plants with a 400w HPS each. both my plants now are monsters, i can only fit 2 in the room, they have been tied back to the light does not burn them. so i wont be doing that again. ive been told i should grom about 6 little plants then flower them, he also said i should use perlite and hand water them. atm im using flood n drain with expanded clay. just wondering if its worth switching to perlite, or keep the recuirculating system.

i've run systems with RO water in the past and have always been conflicted regarding the waste water level, the machine i have has a 1ltr good to 2ltr waste ratio,so when i fill a 200ltr drum of good,400ltrs is going down the drain. Obviously the quality is heaps better and the plants love it,they are getting full balanced nutes instead of 0.8ec of suspect properties(heavy metals etc), i use House & Garden PH Stabiliser to control the PH flutuation. i guess wot im trying to say is can we justify this water consumption for the health of our plants when they do grow with tap water just not quite as well. i'm in south oz and we clearly dont have much water about. does …

hey all... Just about to start my first grow. Seeds arrived today and just wondering what is the best way to germinate them? Is it best to start them in the clay balls, outside in the soil or in pots? Or do you have any other suggestions? TIA Cheers

Hello, Im a long time bush grower who would like to start my very own low key hydroponic set up, does not have to be anything flash as long as it does the job, i know this works for tomatoes and what not, but i would like to know if this works for MJ get an esky with a hole cut in the top for a net pot to sit in nicely fill the pots with clay balls and perlite, then fill the esky with water and nutrients along with an air pump to keep the water aerated. Making sure the water is sitting a couple of cm up the pot to get the nutrients to the roots. basically this video but done inside under lights with only 1 plant in the bucket. also was wondering about lights, …

Hi there, First of all, I couldn't found the presentation section, so I guess there is none, never the less, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm new to growing cannabis, moreover I'm new to Australia (forgive me for my poor english), I'm an international student, studying business in Sydney As I said, I'm new to grow cannabis, more precisely, I'm not even new, since the project is to be started in a few months, but I like everything to be planned well so everything goes as smooth as possible. I've done my researches about growing, and more specifically about growing in OZ. It seems that back in Europe everyone advices to start with soil for your first grow, while most …
