Hi all, It's been awhile since I've been around but there use to be a Hydro shops review section; Just wondering if it's still here? Couldn't find anything when searching for it so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Cheers

My hydro system consists of a small submersible pump with a 12mm (1/2) outlet, a 50 litre (11 gal) plastic tub with a lid (similar to Rubber Maid in US) for a reservoir, a programmable plug-in timer, some 12mm (1/2) plastic pipe, 3mm (1/8") flexible tube, connectors and drippers. The 12mm (1/2) plastic pipe, 3mm (1/8") flexible tube, connectors and drippers are all standard watering system parts. The end of the 12mm plastic pipe connects to the pump, that and the power cord for the pump pass though a slotted hole in the reservoir lid, The pipe travels around the wall of the grow room and the end of it then fits through another hole in the lid, it has a fe…

Hi guys, I have upgraded my res to a 220lt barrel but am finding that my barrel seems to be draining really fast - overnight seemingly. A friend has said that with the pressure of so much water in the barrel, after my timer has switched of it my be syphoning through my system to my plants untill the barrel is dry ?? Has anyone else had similar probs ?? If so how did you resolve it. I know I could perhaps half fill the barrel but that kinda defeats the larger res upgrade.... Thanks

Hey, I've just started growing 2x Burmese Kush under my 250 watt fluro light. they've been like 1 day into veg stage. my question is I don't have a HPS light at all, I'm about to order one with a grow tent etc but that won't be for another 1-2 months. So in that time, these plants will have hit the flowering stage. I do realise it's best to use a HPS for flowering for more bud etc, but do you think a fluro would be okay? Like.. it kinda sucks, but it's going to have to do, what do yous think? will it be ok?

Just ordered 8 of these off Ebay, $20 each, these are the largest disc's I have found. The bottom of my containers are 10 inch, these airstones are advertised as 8.5 but on the packet it says 8 inches so they should cover the bottom nicely. I can run 25L/m of air through each stone with the pump I use, hope that's enough bubbles.

This may seem like a dumb question to the experts on here but please don't jump down my throat bcoz I've scoured this forum for an answer and haven't founfd one. My grow cupboard is 5.2 sq ft (57cm W x 85cm L x 183cm H) I'm growing 2 plants from seed in medium. There is 140cm between the top of pots and where the 250w hps lamp will be attached. With proper air flow ventilation for the space - my question is: will the 250w be to harsh for germinating the seeds (remember it will be 1.4m above the pots). My plan is to germinate them in rock wool cubes immersed in coco fibre/perlite mix - large pots. Or will I need two 30w fluro's (cfs?) dangling 5cm above the pots until the…

Hi All, I plan on setting up my grow room again pretty soon. I am just a bit concerned about the new laws that are about to come into place in WA. I am hoping you can give me some tips and tricks to help reduce the risk of getting caught and let me know what things I can do to stop the cops coming around uninvited. My setup is as follows: 2 x 2.2 x 1.2m Tent 4 Plants 600w globe Exhaust fan with carbon filter Setup will be in the back room of a normal looking house in a normal looking street. What else do I need for stealth? Is there anything I should watch out for? Anything you can suggest would be appreciated.

Hey everyone I haven't posted in a while but am looking at purchasing a new set up soon and just had a few questions. The system I'm buying will consist of the following: - 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.1m Mylar tent - 1.2m Cooltube - 250mm centrifugal fan with carbon filter - passive intake I plan on running 4-9 plants at any one time. Question 1: should i run 2 400w HPS in the cooltube both on analog jb ballasts, or should i run a digital 600w hps? I ask this question because i read somewhere that analog ballasts take 10-15% extra wattage, so between tthe 2 400w ballasts they could use an extra 100w or so making a total of about 900w. If i get a digital ballast though with 30% ext…
