Hey guys, ive just built my first aeroponics set up, and its working so good so no worries on that. Ive tested it with a run on tomato's by just putting the set up outside, and no worries there. Now im going to grow inside, and i need to buy some light, and germ my seeds. I'm going to be growing from seed because i dont have any clones, so if someone could help me out with what lights would work best and cheapest it would be great. Im not a grower to sell, im simply growing for myself. so i dont want any of your fancy HPS stuff, keep it as cheap as possible please. Just two quick questions; 1 --- I just explained. 2 --- Could someone help me out … Last reply by Pure Kush,

I saw a post on Oz Stoners a little while ago that had two Cool Tubes connected with 2 x 90 degree Sheet Metal Duct to form a 180 bend. Anyone have a clue whose setup that might be? Last reply by smashed1, Last reply by smashed1,

Hi all, Seeing as it appears I am now allowed to post again, I thought I would let you know that the advice (yes, lets call it advice) of the OS members and a little reading has showed me the error of my ways. While LED's can produce a light more closely suited to a plants needs, they simply cannot get around the lumen (or lack there of) issue. Maybe in the future, but by that stage plasma lights will be probably be more affordable, so LED may actually never get lift off. To anyone I may have inadvertently offended with my zeal, I sincerely do apologise....................... Anyhoo, to set my decision in stone, right on cue, ol' matey comes around and gives me a 1… Last reply by vertexx,

Hey guys... I just got given a variable speed regulator for a martec mb1204, (ceiling fan) but unfortunately the twisty knob and assembly had been shattered. Now, I'm wondering, If I were to open a double adaptor, remove the positive line between wall and plugs, could I connect the box that controls the power to each plug separately and use it as my own variable speed controller - ie just unplug it and replug it? Hold up, I'll diagram it in Paint. so, what i mean, is can the red and yellow wire go to separate plugs? I'm pretty sure they can, I'd just like clarification if possible Last reply by Hotrod13, Last reply by Hotrod13,

Hi all! New to the forum. I've been searching around in Lighting/Ventilation and Security so as not to double up on threads being posted, but I can't seem to find a relative thread or answer anywhere. Starting my own small grow room using 600-1000W lights. The space will be about 6ft(L) x 2ft(W) x 6ft(H). I've read up all about carbon filters/scrubbers, ducting, exhaust fans, fans to pull cool air in and pretty much everything else. I still have a major question though. Is there anyway to COOL the exhaust air, before it leaves the grow room. I've read about Leo using FLIR cameras to detect heat in terms of grow room lights (which you can avoid by using Mylar etc), b… Last reply by jimbojones5678, Last reply by jimbojones5678,

good morning all, nice to be back. moved to a spot that i can set up in again/finally. i have been out of the loop for the last couple years and have decided the time is now to set up my room again. i basically have what i need except i am looking at replacing my crusty old ballasts that are now probably 5 years old and i owe it to my plants to replace them. have been looking around the web at digital/electronic ballasts and there seems to be a very large difference in pricing and im concerned that the wool is gonna be pulled over my eyes. 600w seem to vary in price from $200-almost $400 each!?!? what could the differences possibly be??? i have read that the loomatechs … Last reply by buntablade,

Hey guys, So i was speaking to my father who grew a few bushes here and there when he was younger, apparently he used a bulb called Son-T-Argo. Have obviously heard of it before but i dont see much recommendation or discussion on them. Anyways he is telling me that it can be used for all three stages of development Germ, Veg and flower. If this is true would that not make more sense to use it rather than having to switch lights / grow rooms etc? Let me know what you think, Sounds like a miracle bulb to me Last reply by buntablade,

G'day everyone! I'm just setting up my indoor grow again after a nearly 10 year layoff. I used to root my cutting in a baby chamber I made 4 foot X 1 X 1 with two 4 foot fluorescent grow tubes. I want to build a similar setup again as it worked well but was wondering what people's opinions of these new energy saver fluoro bulbs is. Are they any good for cuttings, has anybody used them successfully and how many and what wattage would I need? Or should I just get 4 foot grow tubes again? Last reply by STONEDAJ69,

I just noticed that on the power board in my little cab there is a blue led light. The power board actually has power all the time to run the pumps and fans, so even though I've been running my lights at 18/6 there has been that blue LED running 24/7 . Its actually surprisingly bright and because the space is small it fills it up easily I dont really think that would make much difference in veg, maybe a little? but i am going to flower it soon and i heard that they need to be really dark for 12 hours, do you think that would cause any problems?? Hey all, I've been growing my own pot now for just over 20 years now (all outdoor) and have been generally very happy with what I have produced over the years. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control, I have now been forced into suburbia, so now it's time to learn growing under lights. Couple things, pro's con's growing in pots under lights and fully water feed plants? Also, I am looking at this system to begin with. Is this the goods or what? http://m.ebay.com.au/Pages/ViewItem.aspx?aid=220749132909&emvcc=0 Also includes; Summary Picture Description - 1 x Tent 1.2m x 1.2m x 2m - 1 x Defender Adjusta Wings medium - 1 x 600w JB Ballasts - 1 x 60… Last reply by Innocent criminal, Last reply by Innocent criminal,

As promised a bit more information about light, and specifically how to measure it. As you might know The Netherlands is really big in greenhouse industry. After Mexico we are the largest producers of tomatoes in the world, and we all do it in greenhouses. Our flower auction (Flora holland) is the largest in the world with over 60% of all flowers world-wide auctioned there. It is the third largest building in the world by floorspace, 7 times bigger than the pentagon. The Westland is the largest greenhouse area in the world, with over 6,500 acres of greenhouses. This is what a big customer looks like, 12,000 1 kW electronic luminaries over tomatoes on this site: So m… Last reply by whazzup, Last reply by whazzup,

ok pretty baked right now so ideas are going nuts... after reading some stuff about plant photosynsthiss or somthing liek that it got me thinking... casue you get the problem of light not getting to the lower branches of the plant, what about having a light shining up from underneath it so it hits the lower leafs? would it help in anyway to provide the planty with more light? could be done if your plants are raised up off the ground somehow Last reply by Psychonaut, Last reply by Psychonaut,
