Hey guys, got myself a 600wt HPS, got it setup inside cuboard atm.. quite small space.. think 2 milk crates, 1 ontop of each other, bout that big.. that gonna be a problem? running 48degrees atm.. that bad? .. using A4 paper as reflection atm.. will it catch on fire and or even reflect? im manually watering my plants with straight water 3 times a day.. there only about a toothpick and a half tall + wide, they stretched heaps.. ( currently in soil little squares ) Oh and im temporaraly using pieces of coathanger to hold my lamp up.. its secure as long as the light doesnt heat the metal and bend it.. this is all just a temporary setup.. just need to start! Anyone tha…

i have a room 24 by 19 ft i was gonna put two 12" inlets and two 12" out. 3 rows of 7ft tables 3 in a row two 600w on each table will this be enough air and light ?

Hey ya'll im kinda new 2 ozstoners and so far dis is an awsome site :reallyexcited: but i got a few questions about lighting like can anyone give me the info on Compact Fluros i think i no wat are but im not that sure, are they those light that say energy savers and do the 18 watts = 80 watts, also if they are, how many would i need in each stage of growth another thing is, do any of you know those funny big lights that are in the bathroom those one with four on every cornor that give off light and the hallogen light in the middle. do you think that i would be able 2 use that as a grow light:D thanxs :yingyang

I have the option of putting 2 week old seedlings under CF or under a 400W Sontagrow. Which is the better option for early veg? cheers.

just wondering about power consumption, new pc power suplies run upto 400w+, now i have at least 1 pc running 24\7, does this mean it would use the same power as a 400w grow light, just for power usages excuses

OK ive got a question for all the experienced growers out there that will put the whole "how much light" thing into perspective for me, ive such a simple mind.. OK, THEORETICALLY, under ideal and identical conditions, if u had like 6 identical plants say on there fifth leaves and ready to veg, and put them in seperate rooms under the following lights, no topping etc, how long and what yeild would you expect to get off each.... with me ppl ?? 1 . Under a 48w CF 2 . Under like 200w of Fluro lights 3. Under a 250w HPS 4. Under a 400w HPS 5. Under a 600w HPS 6. Hi all, I'm a little new to all this Lighting stuff and am trying to work out what screw thread size I need for my Ablite Lowbay 400 watt HPS so I can mount it to some hooks or something. I got my light given to me and it didnt come with any. Any help or ideas appreciated.

Hey all havent been around for a bit i had to lay low for a wile, but now i am getting ready to start my next grow, i have a 150w hps ballest that i want to use for a small grow it wouldent be any more than 2 small plants as i have sweet fa room in my new place as well as running the 150w hps i am going to run a few cf as well to help with a bit of extra lighting do yas think i will do ok with all that lighting for a small grow any comments would be great...

Hi all, Well, after a couple of moderately successful soil grows under 130w spectrum fluoros I've decided to stop mucking about and change to hydro under HPS. My growspace is small (60cm x 70cm x 170cm) and presently has 2 x 120mm extraction fans with passive inlet. I'm wondering whether I should go for a 250 or a 400 watt lamp. Heat may well be a problem for me with the hottest months still in front of us. Yeild is not hugely important as I suspect that even the 250 would be an improvement over my fluoros. What would you more experienced growers suggest. I'd really prefer not to have to up my ventilation as it's already noisier than I'd like. thanks,

Hey guys, yer like im going to get mah light soon, had planned to get a 430w HID, but i see somemany ppl buying them, using them for 3 months, then selling them for 600w'ers.. do 600w'ers really require that much more attention? Is ventalation of the light mandatory/expensive? any info appreciated, thx fellas PS. large closet grow ( 3-4x more size then closet grow )

High all, just wondering how much roughly it would cost to run a 400 watt light for 12 to 15 houres a day? The location of the light is melbourne and i can ste the timer to run the houres at any period (off peak times). Any ideas? Would be really appreciated.

G'day All, I thought it might be interesting to see how much lights cost, as in per month, quarter. And how much it varies from state to state. I cant post any information myself as I'm not growing.........yet Please list what sort of light, wattage and state, if possible, and I'm sure it could become an invaluable resource. :thumbsup Oh, and if a similair Topic has already been discussed, sorry for the repetition, and could you please point me.. towards the light.....he he :smoke
