Hello again everyone, I've purchased my new grow tent (2.8x1.4x2M) complete with 2 600Watt ballasts, globes and a 10" centrifugal fan. Would I be better off going hydroponic straight away? I kind of wanted to start in soil for my first attempt, but i am after maximum yield in minumum time. What would the difference be when growing Pure Kush? Thanks!

I recently went to the local hydro store and was interested in buying a 400w HPS and was looking at buying a metal halide that would work in the same reflector. The bloke there said that 'Using a metal halide during the growth stage was what all the old school growers do, but you can just use a HPS the whole way through, you just have to remember to change the light on hours.' Anyone else tried an entire grow using HPS start to finish, and did you see results just as good if not better than using a MH or a fluro?

The woman at my local hydro shop told me (after phoning the owner) that most of the current LED's are crap, but they are waiting for new digital (?) LED's from a US co. but prob won't arrive til after Christmas. Does anyone know a source of these 'new tech' LED's - she said she didn't know - (or maybe wanted me to wait and buy them locally?) Fair enuf but I would mind one now - my prob is limited grow space = excessive heat with hps or mh, plus with summer coming - a 90w=400w hps would be nice - but not from China... no offence. Anyone ...?

Hi i am in melbourne, can anyone tell me if they sell mylar in bunnings? Also has anyone used mylar? Do i just wrap it around my grow area or do i have to stick it to some ply board?

gday. i have a fish tank fluro light here and was wondering if it could be used during seedling/clone rooting growth. i have it so i figured i would use it if its suitable. Its an T8 Aqua One 20W tropical tube with the housing. the tube is new. would appreciate some info on what to use that doesnt break the bank if this is no good. thanks

Hi all, I am wanteing everyones experience when it comes to using ozone for odor control. I know many of you swear by carbon filters and they are good, but in my particular circumstance I have a carbon filter in my tent (1.2x1.2x2) and another carbon filter with fan in the room the tent is in so the tent is pressure neg, and the room the tent is in is also pressure neg. So the air has to clear 2 filters (small and larger one) before being expelled out of a second floor window. The Carbon filters are 6 months old. I am still having some odor issues in the air being vented, on a still day (no breez) you can catch an odor when drying and from week 5 on wards. No I believ…

Hi all, I have a quick question with regards to carbon filter and fan cfm. I have a 6" 440cfm carbon filter and a friend gave me his 6" 192cfm fan and I was wondering if I can use these together? The space is only 4'x 3'x 5' so would these work together? Don't really want to spend the money on a new filter if it's not needed.... Cheers guys.

Would this work. I have an air con duct in my grow room ceiling, I was thinking of leading my exhaust duct into that vent and letting it blow into it. This would be good for spreading the heat around my house, but would it ruin my air conditioner ?

Hey all, im new to this site, whoo so much info to take in... IM a little confused im wanting to set up my warrobe and have 400watts going. I have 10 plants all at around 8 weeks and have been under 600w hps 24/0 and i switched to 18/6 one week ago. Ive noticed one plant has more budding sites and smells alot stronger and was wondering if i could start the flowering process now on that one while the others remain on 18/6. I would just sperate the one plant for 12 hours in complete darkness then let in rejoin the others?\ Any help would be appreciated, first grow....

Which do you think is better and why? I've been looking into it and basically all I can find is never ending debates which end up delving into some some partially scientific/ pseudo-scientific arguments with heavy doses of anthropomorphism (I.e. "Well put it this way. I need sleep, therefore, so do my plants!"). However when it comes to input from those clearly versed in plant biology etc. it seems that many lean towards the notion that marijuana doesn't actually seem to benefit from any more than a maximum of 18 hours of light per 24 hour period, despite what even veteran grower Ed Rosenthal may state. Then again there really seems to be a lot of allegations of misun…
