Hi all...back again. After looking through the wording in the drugaware.com.au brochure "There are New Laws on Cannabis in Western Australia", it would seem that a CIN would only be issued if two plants were found per household, not per person in the household....does that seem right? "•possession by an adult of no more than two cannabis plants under cultivation at that person’s principal place of residence provided that the plants are not hydroponically grown and that no other person is growing other cannabis plants on the same premises - (penalty $200)" Also, the article that Phreak1987 linked seems to support this in the explanatory notes... " Subclause 7(2) d…

Hi all:) I've had a good search and besides finding information about SA and their hydroponics rules, can not find any information on what legally constitutes a hydroponic grow in WA. I'm wondering if it is the nutrients, the artificial lighting setup and/or the media used. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. All the best pug

Hi all. For those it may interest, I have found a pretty balanced review of the literature around cannabis use. This was commissioned by the Keating government in 1994 (since rescinded) and represents, I believe, the last attempt by an Australian government to get all the facts around the dangers and impacts of cannabis use. It's an important document for that reason. It's also pretty encouraging in its assessment of cannabis use and makes the following points, among others. Note that these are accurate findings at the time of the report, in 1994, and are to be understood in that context. That said, as the last survey of its kind, this document still represents the mo…

Peter Fitzsimmons, noted author, after dinner speaker, sports commentator and former Wallaby wrote this in his column: Halt this Pointless War (note the final sentence in the article below) ANOTHER week, another massive drug bust. This one was on Thursday in Hinchinbrook, where the police found a drug laboratory said to be capable of producing $10million worth of ecstasy. Sigh. All power to the courageous men and women of the NSW Police Force who do this stuff but, truly, hands up who thinks all this effort will make a blind bit of difference in the long run, any more than it ever has? Hands up who thinks there is any way around the laws of supply and demand, whi…

Police say they have discovered 2,700 marijuana plants in a raid on a house south of Brisbane this morning. The seedlings and mature plants were allegedly grown both inside and outside the Lincoln Street house at Park Ridge. A 41-year-old man will appear in court this afternoon charged with production of dangerous drugs, possession of cannabis and utensils. A 37-year-old woman's been given a notice to appear for possession of dangerous drugs. From: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/03/02/2834585.htm And from the QLD police website which I wont bother linking.. Drug arrest, Park Ridge: A 41-year-old man will appear this afternoon in the Beenleigh Magist…

In March 1999 a man living in Kandos (near Mudgee in NSW, Australia ) received a bill for his as yet unused gas line stating that he owed $0.00. He ignored it and threw it away. In April he received another bill and threw that one away too. The following month the gas company sent him a very nasty note stating that they were going to cancel his gas line if he didn't send them $0.00 by return mail. He called them, talked to them, and they said it was a computer error and they would take care of it. The following month he decided that it was about time that he tried out the troublesome gas line figuring that if there was usage on the account it woul…

<h2 class="storyHeadline"></h2> Thought I should post this up ... From the Northern Star. Link - http://www.northernstar.com.au/story/2010/...back-in-sights/ What else is there to say really. Sigh ... On a related note ... I noticed this: http://www.nor.com.au/~hemp/media_releases...ease_0107_1.htm 1999 media release from the Hemp Embassy entitled - NSW Police Minister & Commissioner reply to Helicopter raid Complaints. Worth a read for sure ... this part struck me though ... part of the reply from the Commissioner : Is it just me or is this comment (in Bold) a little odd ? Best to read the whole reply for yourself ... but I wou…

February 18, 2010 3:30PM http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/canna...0-1225831844834 Copyright 2009 News Limited CANNABIS is easier to buy than a pizza, says a drug expert, so why not legalise and tax it to benefit everyone? Dr Alex Wodak, the director of the Alcohol and Drug Service at Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital, says cannabis will soon be Australia's smoke of choice. "In a few years time, we'll have more Australians smoking cannabis than we have smoking tobacco and by default that market is largely taken over by criminals,'' Dr Wodak said. "Having a black market of that size is not good for anybody and inevitably big black markets can only survive i…
