I found this piece to be one of the strangest I've read in a long time. Full of hyperbole, distortions and contradictions, yet he still advocates legalisation. I find it laughable that he advocates the "science" showing adverse effects of cannabis, but strangely mentions nothing of the science showing the opposite. And he wants to limit thc content in pot??!! oh dear... All too often we hear about cannabis being a "gateway" drug. All of us on here know that is in all probability bullshit, and this study, while not expansive, shows something completely different - and something that is currently buried in the social discussion about drugs and drug use. But it's something that needs expanding on. I also believe there needs to be more research into the amount of people who, from a young age, are prescribed pharma drugs like ritalin (or any arrange of anti-psyc's like prozac etc) who go on to become addicts of "illicit" drugs. Drug addition is a sad reality in society and not something easily overcome. But the constant and overwhelming claim…

Source: Bundaberg News I guess it pays to check equipment over for GPS devices if you have intentions of knocking off gear for a grow.

A State Government's inquiry is probing arguments for decriminalising, taxing and regulating cannabis production. IAN FRAZER reports THE most widely used illicit drug in Queensland looks likely to stay that way despite the case for making cannabis as respectable as chardonnay. The State Government's Social Development Committee has considered arguments for decriminalising, taxing and regulating cannabis production during an inquiry this year. But the committee's chairwoman Mundingburra MP Lindy Nelson-Carr said this week it would take a brave government to legalise use of the drug, given evidence of its harm. "It's another consideration but I would be surprised gi…

Apparently now legalising canna means more divorce, domestic violence and child abuse!!! Oh mercy. I guess it's easy to say anything and everything if you don't have to back it up with any facts...(and I'm not even going to start on the 240,000 joints bit..) http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Election-2010...ia-legalize-pot

Not surprisingly, America's last few drug czar's have gathered together to oppose Prop 19 in the US. http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commen...0,5131241.story A few initial thoughts. Sorry to burst your bubble guys but, no, you can't. You use extremely flimsly evidence of "Amsterdam's coffee shop sales" and the fact the Dutch have lowered the number of coffee shops selling canna. But surely you know you are quoting figures out of context. The repealing of coffee shops isn't happening in Amsterdam, from what I can see, but from cities or towns in the Netherlands closer to the borders of other counties, where pot remains illegal, and a black market is created…

I found this series to be one of the most balanced and enlightening when talking about the drug war in the US. I'll link just the first part of it, the rest are there on youtube to link to it if interested. Really worth watching the whole series imo..(particularly interesting that the DEA and the White House Office of Drug Policy refused to be a part of it. Pretty hard to have a balanced debate when the policy makers and those who enforce those laws refuse to discuss the issue...hmmmm.) I also find it particularly interesting that this was aired on Fox News.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar4tNc5WYPo
