From ninemsn I fail to see how this is in the public interest? All it does is help keep prices high for organised crime gangs to profit from. Money they use to finance the importing of truly addictive and dangerous drugs into Australia like heroin. I read this article to say $21.7 million of crime gang markets protected by Nick Bingham and the NSW Police. This work only benefits organised crime gangs is the reality, it is not for the greater good of the community. A thick skin shouldn't = a thick head as well? Wake up and see the damage you are really doing to the comunity please? For the greater good of the community. Peace MM

While not precisely 'cannabis' related this could have major implications for sites like this and all other sites that allow freedom of thought and speech. One Pass to rule them all, One Pass to find them, One Pass to bring them all and in their freedom bind them. In the land of government where the shadows lie. http://openid.net/2011/01/08/internet-identity-system-said-readied-by-obama/?cws_acc=1298062821&caught_as=moderation#comment-caught

While the rest of the world got to enjoy healthy hemp food over the holidays here in Australia unfortunately we still suffer from some ridiculously ludicrous laws, regarding hemp food products in particular losing millions in an untapped health food market that is already thriving everywhere else in the world. In 2002, Food Standards Australia and New Zealand ruled hemp was safe for human consumption, but Australia's state and federal health ministers overturned the ruling in their infinite wisdom costing Australian hemp farmers millions of dollars, and depriving Australians access to highly nutritious healthy hemp food products just waiting to be produced by the hemp bus…

http://www.northernstar.com.au/story/2010/12/16/medical-cannabis-pioneer-tony-bower-queensland/ MEDICINAL cannabis pioneer Tony Bower says he is fed up with bureaucratic stonewalling in NSW and will move his increasingly popular dispensary to Queensland. Mr Bower founded Mullaway’s Medical Cannabis after developing a way to access the healing qualities of cannabis without the notorious side-effects, offering welcome relief to people suffering chronic pain and terminal illness. Hundreds, possibly thousands, of people on the North Coast who previously struggled with the often debilitating side-effects of prescription painkillers have attributed significant relief …

By David Edwards Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010 -- 10:21 am It's becoming more and more difficult to find juries that will produce a guilty verdict in marijuana cases, according to a judge in Missoula County, Montana. "I think it's going to become increasingly difficult to seat a jury in marijuana cases, at least the ones involving a small amount," District Judge Dusty Deschamps said Friday after potential jurors refused to convict a Montana man for having a 1/16 of an ounce of Marijuana. An April 23 search of Touray Cornell's home found several used marijuana joints, a pipe, and some residue. He's is also charged with the criminal distribution of dangerous d…

His proposed legislation, if passed, would have brought Victoria into line with other states in Australia. The Victorian state Opposition supported Mr Kavanagh's bill, but the combined vote of the ALP and Greens defeated it by 20 votes to 16. Mr Kavanagh commented that the defeat of his bill has sent the wrong mess…
