HI fellow members, through various experimentations with various mediums(expanded clay, vermulite, perlite) and having to feed them appropriatley as they are nutrient poor mixes and need constant nutrient enrichment,Ie Reservoir, autopot, flood and drain.I have found Ed Rosenthals tried and true formula of hands on gardening works best,ie hand watering with nutrients. The mix I have found best is 50%perlite/ver and 50% potting mix in 150mm pots with drainholes that each sit in a individual saucer for water run off and additional feeds during hours unattended.

Hi all, I just want to get the safest tds reading. I'm ready to add my flower nutes and was wondering what the best range to start off would be. I try to keep my ph around the 6-7 mark(cant be exact with the liquid measure). I have read to keep ppm around 1000, Would this be a safe starting point. With my last few grows i was using what the bottle said and what the instructions to my system said, When i got my tds meter i realized my ppm was around the 1800 mark. Everything grew well but was all unknown bagseed. Now that i am growing strains which i know, I dont want to risk overfert. Any help here much appreciated, Thanks heaps, Paranoid.

An ideal way to get the Right Heat Temperature that HydroPonics (Cultivation of plants in nutrient solution rather than in soil) is to use a 200w glass heater set at bout 28degrees celius.I purchased mine from Grow Australia but id say it would be cheaper from a fish shop as its an aquarium heater.

Hi peoples! I love to make my own soil, a well prepaired compost is impossible to beat if you're going to use soil. But in recent years, my health has declined so much, that I can't do it anymore. So I have to buy soil in bags. It seems that most are crap. There's one product I know of called "Searles 5 in 1" that is extremely concentrated. Excellent to add into other mixes of soil to increase the overall potency of the soil. But that still requires bending, hauling heavy bags and mixing heavy soils. I'm not joking about being incapacitated, so does anyone know of a good bagged soil that is ready to go? I live in Qld, it seems that the bagged soils vary from st…
