I am growing in my built in cupboard. I need to set it up so that it is light sealed even when the door is open (so that i can sleep and still have ventilation). I plan to make an inner curtain/door out of panda plastic and use a Tarp Zip-Up for access. Will mount a PC fan blowing out at the top and one pulling in at the bottom. When i get rent inspections i can just shut the door and throw a surfboard in front of it. What thickness of Panda do you think i should use (i dont have any experience withit)? and does anyone know where to get those adhesive Tarp Zip-Ups in Australia online, or in Perth? Cheers

I've noticed online some extremely exorbitant prices for the 25mm aluminium tubing used to create flod drain table stands and various other bits and pieces. Last time I bought some for my fish tanks it was ~$19 for a 6m length and a few bucks each for the nylon fittings. Qubelok as it is known is available from Capral Aluminium or many other sources online. Supply a cutting sheet and Capral will even chop it up for you for ~$5. I've seen grow tents made out of Qubelok; it really is quite versatile and strong as hell.

I'm a first time grower and I'm looking to construct a small cabinet like structure to grow in. My climate ranges from 80-100 in the summer, but usually around 90-95. I've watched a few DVDs and read up on what I need to do but I have a few specific questions for experienced growers. The optimal growing range for marijuana is around 65-75 degrees, depending on the vegetative or flowering state, correct? Since this box will be outside and I live in harsher environment how will that temperature be maintained? I don't think the intake fan will be enough. I thought about a very small air conditioner and adding a tub of water inside the cabinet to offset the dry air the air …

hey folks, this is all ive thought of so far, i plan on setting up 4 x 600w HPS. Every grow i have done i have over grown the area and havnt been able to get to 100% of the coverage of my plants. How big of an area would you advise for 4 x 600w ? I plan on growing them in big pots more then likely in cocopeat. ill have 2 x 11" silent industrial fans as exhaust and 1 fan sucking air in. scored them for free from work I only plan on doing this type of grow once, i usually only use 1 or 2 600w lights, so any advice from people with semi-large setups please advise me on your setup. ive acheived around 0.6g per watt in my last grow, just 3 clones in coco under 2 x…

hi all, was wondering if anyone has had anything to do with using small generators for powering a smallish home grow? i dont think the gen needs to be too large, it is mostly the noise that worries me....whislt i live in a pretty bushy area, there are farms not too far away, i still do have neighbours not far away and dont want to advertise the use of a motor. as i said in my first post (early this week)in dr livingstone, i am new to the indoor grow, have a 400w lamp for the sprouts, and 2 * 600w hps lites for serious grow time. i saw the power usage chart posted in the lighting forum but i guess i am a little dense , i couldnt get how that will show on my power bill....…

Well, we got a box together and even have beans sprouting in it as we speak. Just thought I'd show it off and see what everyones thoughts are on it. It is a steel frame (welded) walls of 1/4" bathroom paneling. It consists of two side by side compartments 17"x20"x34" (34 tall) the compartments are separated by a removable mylar wall, the box is accessed through the top, which is mylar also, We only have light in one box right now. 3 100w equivalent CFLs and one hell of an exhaust (will support both sides.)

I could really do with some advice for a cabinet build. Currently planning for 1.35m x 1m x 2.4m tall cabinet, so bit bigger but not huge this'll be located in a garage. Got an exhaust fan pushing filtered air into the roof cavity. So I am wondering, would this need to run 24/7 to get oxygen to the plants or just while the 600W HPS is running to cool the cabinet? Anyone know of a thermal cut-out switch that can kill power to the light (in case the fan fails for whatever reason)? I looked at Jaycar but they only got components. How many times a day to I need to flood the plant tray?

Anyway have a laugh and enjoy a moment of knowing how good it is being smart and thrifty. Or treat this as an example of how not to spend your money. LMFAO. Werd.

I'm getting there with my little wardrobe conversion. Finally pulled my finger out and did a few things. I'm still not quite there as I still need to paint the area and cover the front (the sliding doors are certainly no good ) and light proof it a bit. But I'm not sure if the lighting is sufficient. Once finished, the dimensions of the room will be 40x85x175cm and I currently have 3 24w CFL (5000K) in there. It is nice and bright but somehow still seems not quite right. Any suggestions? More lamps or just stronger globes? EDIT: Forgot to mention: This is just supposed to be used for seedlings, clones and veg. I will build a flowering cabinet once this is finished…
