Okay I've built this minus the master res. But I have just realised that the nute mix in the external res is not necessarily going to have the same properties as the main res in the cabinet so I am going to add a small submersible pump to the far end of the external res with the tubing running to the far end of the main res so i can recirc all the nutrients and mix them up before I do any testing and topping up. I used 25mm tank outlets and pipe so the roots dont block them up but by using these huge connections I couldnt get them that close to the bottom. Hopefully by adding the pump I can get a better idea of what the plants are getting. I just have to figure out what …

I have built a hydroponics setup from a 15l tub,3 X pots.I bought a watermaster pump that you use for ponds/fountains for $12.95 at bunnings. The pump is 12/2.5 voltage/watts and has a maximum flow of 200 litres per hour.Maximum height is 0.5metres. I have supplied the pictures so you guys can see it and give me some advice. In the third picture with the pump in operation you can see how its working. Some things im not sure of is should i get some tubing and connect the tubing to the tube already coming out of the pump with a three way thing(fitting)? So then i would have three tubes coming off the pump tube and stuck into the pots so the water/nutrient can flow over the r…

Hey Drum how ya goin well i took your dimensions and draw this up for ya. A few suggestions for the equipment aswell for your ventilation i suggest a 4"-6" inline centrifugal fan with a carbon filter. To set this system up in this grow room i reckon the best way would put the fan in the veg room and from the put a y divider and off one of those run duct into your flower room and connect the filter on that and suspend from the room. For air intake you could maybe add 2 pc fans on a dc converter find one here its a good sight for pc fans. http://www.coolerguys.com/ For that lil room at the top right you could use that for cloning or storage was meant for cloning but doesnt …

I am sorry if this question is stupid or has been covered before. But I am in the process of building a cabinet. I have got most of it sorted but before i start drilling and cutting i need to know if this system is going to work! I have been researching everything in detail but because I have never grown indoors before I need some advice from someone with experiance in growing with the DWC/Bubbler and ScrOG method. From what i have read so far it seems that keeping the right nutrient level in the reservoir is a constant battle with this method. And disturbing the roots and plants in the main reservoir every time you need to top up or take a reading doesnt seem to me t…

after reading and getting quite confused by grow rooms i finally want to take up the challenge and build my own. i have scrapped the fridge idea and instead use a old wooden cabinet which is 80cmx80cmx1.95mt . The cabinet will be in a garage so hopefully smell and noise can be reduced if not eliminated . Not sure what type of lighting would be needed within this space . after much reading on here im stuck on whether to go with a 250 or 400w hps light . I would like the Ventilation to be out of sight but dont know whats the best system for my cabinet . what size carbon filter would be best suited for that . I need advice coz im not sure what i need ? Than…

hey guys i am building my first grow room woooo, i have been reading about grow rooms and the trials and tribulations of growing pains and i am really hooked i want to build my own cause i'm sick of getting ripped off, i have about 10 seeds imported and a heap of bag seeds. Now i just need to be taught how to get my own grow room started. i have seen the others on this site and i will be using ideas from them but there are some things i am concerned about, for instance, i am living with a room mate but they live downstairs and i live upstairs she doesn't really come up much but if she did would there be a chance of her finding my stash cause of smell, i am thinking of …

Looking at lining the walls of my new box and Im wondering what thickness film i need to stop 600w light coming out (and any ambient daylight that makes it in the blackout curtains)? In the past I used the folded 2mm concrete underlay which was excellent but black. Will the 150m panda do it or will i need 250micron? I was going to try out mylar but it just costs too much

Hi peeps- a quick questrion if I may. I want to know what type of wood sheeting to obtain for my grow cupboard. I have settled on a convienient size of 1.4 x 1.2 x 0.90m for my room. I have looked at 2 wood sheeting products & pricing for them and would like to know if I can use; 1) 3mm Ply @ $35 for 1200 x 1400x 3mm sheets @ $35.00 per sheet, or Masonite (back board) 2400 x 1200 x 4.8mm @ per sheet $10.50. In particular, up until today when I visited bunnings to view wood, I was set on using Ply-Wood however as Masonite is cheaper is there a reason for not using Masonite back-boaerding ? I am wondering if the fairly constant humidity or some aspect of …

Okay I have heard it mentioned by people that they would rather have a bigger growing space rather than a bigger light. So I ask if you had a 600 W HPS and could build any size room, how big would you make it.

Hi I know this sounds like a stupid question but where is the best place to drill my holes for my air lines in a DWC res?? On all the posts I've read about constructing a DWC reservoir it has the holes drilled near the top of the res. But I think it sems more logical to drill them near the bottom I have the right grommets for the job and I also have some suction caps to secure the airline to the bottom and some non-return valves to protect the pump. Surely this is the better way of doing it because it will keep the stones at the bottom of the res instead of wanting to float and keep them further away from the root mass. The only reasons I can think of for drilling th…

Okay i have a over under fridge with the freezer on top with a approx. dimensions of 2x2x2ft, the bottom half has dimensions of 2x2x4. My plan is to have the top setup for veg. mothers and cloning with 2 43w daylight cfl's, and the bottom setup for flowering with one 400w hps. I was wondering what kind of ventilation i would need. Also approximately how much this setup would yield, and is a good canidate for SCOG. Lastly i have 4 43w 2700k cfl's, and i was wondering if they would be useful in the flowering chamber for lower bud sites. Any advice is welcome i'm only expirienced with outdoor grows.
