Hi everyone I've been wanting to start building/growing for a while but never got around to it. That was until I found the ngb box, It seems perfect! I plan on building it the same as The original but a bit bigger, use a cool tube or cool reflector, use a 250hps and rethink the ventilation also fit a carbon filter. It will also be in a bathroom were the temperature always seems to be cooler than the rest of the house plus I have a noisy extraction fan which I can run when friends/family visit. When Im finished if it works I may post a guide on how I built it and such. Ok heres my dimensions H - 3ft W - 3 D - 2 Is 3ft enough or Should I go 4ft? Would I be able…

K so, with my budget and space, I can't afford HID, so I've opt'd for 8x24w 6700k CFLs, I have 2 problems, Reflection and mounting. I have an area 500x700x1700, and half of it is painted white, a tiny bit has that white plastic crap you put over wood and the rest of the area ill line with mylar or something simular. I was wondering how I would go about mounting the batten holders and what to use to reflect the part of the cfls that aren't being shone on the plant. Any ideas?

I just wacked together a carboard growbox in an hour and a half because i was bored and thought mabee some others might like to see it,and if anyone has any advice on how to make it better your welcome to add your 2 bobs worth.I made this from items i already had so it cost me nothing. The box is 500mm x 400mm x 300mm.It has 2 120mm computer fans (ebay)for intake and outake and they are wired to 12volt 240v phone chargers. Its only running a 48watt cfl from bunnings and i have lined the inside completly with panda film(ebay). The cfl was a little too heavy so i threaded some thin galvinised wire though the top of the box curving around the bulb to lift it up a bit.Temp…

Hi Everyone My friends and I enjoy the odd toke, but we’re a little strapped for cash, and it just costs so much off the streets these days! I’ve spent the last couple of months looking through grow forums all over the internet! (Gosh..there’s so much!), but it seems like the further I delve into the world of growing, the more there is to know, and the more intimidating it gets! I’m so sorry if some of these questions have come up before, this would be my first grow, and I need all the help I can get GROWING MEDIUM I live in an apartment, and due to the circumstances I think a Hydroponic grow would be the ideal method for me, I hope to use one or two…

Converting your old fridge or freezer into a grow box! Okay, I have spent about the last week (in my spare time) constructing a grow box out of my old freezer which stopped working a few months ago. I live in a rental, with regular inspections, so my grow needed to be stealthy, what better choice than an everyday household appliance? Here is the basic plan: I will be growing in soil, as I don't have any experience with a hydro set up. As as the grow needs to be stealthy, I am not sure its a good idea as a hydro set up would definitely be harder to hide or take up more precious room inside the grow box. I am sure I could incorporate a hydro setup later if required. …

Hey all.. I've grown a few plants before.. about 30cm big, healthy but just planted at the wrong time and didn't get very big. I've decided that I want to give it a proper go with an old freezer, I stripped out all the electricals, but I haven't figured out how to rip out the shelves yet.. I might just have to take it out the back and chance it with the gas inside them. Any suggestions? I've uploaded a picture with a "diagram", basically thinking of doing 3-4 plants, maybe about 4 feet tall.. should be an ideal amount of space. Im not sure on pot size, i think the pot in the picture is a 30cm so i should be able to fit 4. I might get some sqyare ones, that is just…

hi there, so i live in a unit and am fucked if i am gonna drag 70l res up and down stairs so i have invented my own idea i did not find online, sorry if it is but i found this idea out myself and thought i would shar eit with you all! all i have done is got any regular garden hose and connected it to my res and onto a fitting to fit onto the toilet tap. as shown in the pics... this is the toilet part as you can see it just a double sized nut to fit the toilet tap connection and then the other size to fit standard garden hsoe fitting.. and this is my setup to the res.. as you can see just a simple valve on a t piece. the tray is higher then the res so when i fill it up i…

This is for a 2-3 plant cabinet for a cfl lighting with soil. The first thing is to decide on wall material. It seems marine ply is ideal and then coated with polyester to seal it, then painted with flat white. I'm interested to know if Plasterboard would be any good? It is used to line home interiors and is cheap plus I guess fireproof and at around $10 for a 2400 x 1200 x 10mm sheet it is economical too.

Hey Everyone I've been busy working away on my first dwc cabinet setup for a few months now so far I pretty much have everything. All I have to do now is build the cabinet. The cabinet has to pretty much stay the same in terms of width and depth because I've already built everything to fit into that space (which is a fairly inconpsicuos normal cabinet size). All I want to know is if i can reduce the ceiling height to put an additional shelf in for a humidity crib and fluorescent tube (which will be on top of the ballast and control gear shelf (Hoping of using the ballast to heat the crib from underneath)). Here are all the specifications and dimensions I can think…

Hi all, well i'm going through the final plans for my flowering cabinet and have a couple of q's. Now the plan is to have the cabinet split into 2 rooms on top of each other, the top one for when the clones are rooted till they are 4 weeks old and then move them into the larger room below for the last 4 weeks of flowering. Did i explain that ok, easy to draw and see in my head any ways. My question is how much room will i need for each part of the cabinet. Ill be running 600w HPS in both with cool tubes and excessive ventilation so i was thinking around 3ft for the top one 0-4 wks and 4ft for the bottom one 4-8wks. Any way let me know what you guys think and than…

So I used all the information I could find on here, as well as the wider internet and decided to have a go at this myself. This is what I have built. The box itself is a plastic trunk I picked up at a garage sale. It volume is 2 cubic feet, so I have gone for 45W of lighting per cubic foot. The lights are 2 x 45W Cool Daylight (6500K) CFL globes I picked up from Bunnings for the veg, I also have another 2 X 45W Warm White CFL's which I will use for flowering. I have a small computer fan that is pumping about 7.0 cfm for ventilation. What do you all think?

Ok i have made some changes to my setup.I have added a stong up pump connected to two tubes that go through the side of the tub into the water and they have airstones to give plenty of oxygen. I have bought a more powerfull pond pump that sits submerged in the water/nutrient solutuion and pumps water through its single tube into a 4 way connecter that is joined to three smaller tubes that come up out of the lid and go into the tops of the pots so the plants roots are always getting water and nutrient. Does this sound like it is going to work?Do i need to improve anything? The tub is a 15litre,the pond pump is a maxi 103 1200L/Hour with a max head height of 1.2 meters and …
