can you guys pitch in on your ideas on cheapo growing . like im worried about night temps but is a thermo heater for lights off overkill when it comes to eco growing? or is yeild going to cover it also what do you guys use for fan control . wats the best option for small spaces. as in i dont want to have the fan running when it doesnt have to but i need it to run during lights off. fan speed controllers, timers, or thermostats any money saving ideas are welcome

Old ice cream freezer I converted. Still a bit more refinement to go with fan controlling. The main exhaust fan and small exhaust fan are temperature controlled. i set the thermostat to start the main fan at 24 degrees it sounds low but there is a dead band that keeps the fan off for four minutes and the temp in cab rises to 29 degrees before it comes on, when the main fan is off the small fan in the door starts and the temp rises pretty slowly to 24 deg before the cycle starts again. It maintains about 26/27 degrees around the plant. I have set it up that I can change ballasts and lights even go to cfl's if it gets too hot in summer. Just by swapping a few leads. The si…

Hello all. I would like abit of advice from anyone that can help here. The grow room being set up is approximately 4m squared. There is already a 600watt HPS. Now a rooms this size will probably need another 600watt HPS. Now to keep the usage of electricity down the idea of UFO led Lighting Came up as supplemental lighting. Would UFOs be useful say 2 - 4 panels? Or would another 600 watt hps be alot better? Also required is an extraction fan. Can anyone Recommend a quiet Fan that does approxiamtely 270 CFM give or take. Quiet being the main objective. Also any solution using 2 fans would be interesting as well. Thanks for any help in advanced.

so OK, I'm still on the Bunnings high, a day in Bunnings is a good day. I can paint. Thought of making it a career choice because I'm pretty damned good at it. Not only the surface needing painting but ME, things around me, and the neighbour's cat ALL get painted. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT? If you ever see someone walking around looking like a painter's easel please say G'day, it's me :-) SO, with my reguar level of decorum, I attack the cupboard today. The inside of an enclosure 850*550*1400 needs to get white. FOR JOY, FOR JOY... chuck on the old jeans, and an old sloppy Joe, been there, done that. PAINT. couple of hours later (with beer break, to allow coat1 t…

Well im sure some of you remember where i started late last year in my little drobe with a 400w light and a few tiny fans, see Grow diary here: https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners...showtopic=22742 So yah come a long way since then in my opinion, certainly have a wealth of knowledge at my disposal now and keen to push my space to its limits. The new system includes a 600w Lumatek Digi Ballast, new res, more pots, same strain (Mazar) and my beauty new --- Aeroponic Clone/Veg Chamber So yah very happy with the new aero cloner, if your wondering what the black tubing is next to the pots it is there so you can raise and lower where you want your water spi…

I have really been thinking a lot lately of how my first grow box will be and what ill use. I have access to a small cupboard/cabinet which is 60x50x120 L/W/H and here is what im thinking; Around 130w of CFL's, maybe a couple like these; Veg Flowering. Im not sure what else i could do in this space and am aware of the lower yield from CFL's I was going to go for a 120mm exhaust fan and a small carbon filter like THIS Im planning on having the filter in the cabinet as there is a higher area in the cabinet, past the 120cm mark which would be suitable for a filter but not a light, its a strange shaped cabinet near the top but i think itd work well. Smell elimination is a…

Hi everyone, just a few questions i would like to ask i have a 1000w mh light which i got a couple of years ago but have not had the chance to use it yet due to i am renting and want to buy a house before i start growing indoors under lights and also my soon to be wife wont let me while we are renting. Just wondering with a 1000w MH light is it possible that i can use it in a cupboard? has anyone one else done this and what size cupboard did you use. also could i use a 400w light instead of the 1000w??. thanks in advance

Walls were timber nogged, rockwool slab sound insulation installed and gyprock skinned. NFT lids pop off for easy clean up between grows for root mat removal. The end lid pieces are for "sneak 'n peak", so I can see the root mat colour is a healthy white without having to lift the lid which would disturb the plants. The wire mesh is for spreading the plants out. I prefer wire over plastic flower mesh (which I have used past) as it doesn't stretch and sag. I'll add some more pics later.

Hidey ho stonerinos. Well i'm going to be growing my own from now on I want to do this as cheap as i can but also as well as i can (don't we all I currently rent (hopefully this PLANT will help me save enough money for a house deposit! by growing instead of buying ) so i'm going with a grow tent so i can move it rapidly if necessary. My plans so far are... 1.2x1.2x2 m grow tent, 1x600W HPS (comes with lamp shade/ballast/tent and nutrient powder in a package). I'll need a 150mm exhaust fan and ducting to exhaust into ceiling cavity. Obviously a fan to move the air and a temp/humidity thingymabob. (plants/medium/pots can worry about after). Now that is eve…

High High People's. I am (trying) to make a growth box for indoor use, it will not be getting any useage for a long time still but I might aswell get stuck into the plans for it now. I'm only growing one plant at a time, only for myself and it will probably never see day light. This is my first ever attempt growing. I really have no idea what I will need or how it should look but hopefully at the end of this thread I can have some photo's of what I have sumarised from your information. I wont hold back on any supplies I might need because I only want the best outcome for myself, which makes sence I'm assuming. Thanks, have a good one.
