For the first time I have been starting my seedlings off straight into dwc after the root shows through the bottom of the rockwool cube. I reckon the growth rate is pretty amazing and couldn't help sharing with you all. Please add some comparison pics of your own to the thread, it would be good to get a range of growing mediums and methods. This seedling is in a rockwool cube in a 40mm netpot, under a 400W HPS (18/6), ppm around 550, pH from 5.5-6.0. This picture shows the difference 7 days makes in my dwc system. Naycha

He's a link to a chappy that occasionaly has something interesting to say baout cultivation. (end result 16:04) Id be intersted to discuss this, does anyone already do this? Is this rediculous? will the plant respnse time move quickly enough to resistribute the apical hormones to the lower branches to encourage growth, or will this temporarily stall the canopy allowing the lower braches to catch up, the slower growth, MIGHT mean for a thicker main stem

Hi all, I am planning to grow a plant indoors (first time), with no extra light, ventilator etc, just planting it and taking good care of it. I am not looking at massive yield or anything, personal use strictly... Will it work? Will it mature decently with just a natural light next to a window?

I have a question about coco feed regimes I am doing run to waste, running 50lt pots, using nixs mix coco it is a blend. I am wondering how much and often to feed. I have been told to always have 10 to 20% run off, which will mean a lot of water per feed. I am following H&G feed chart and when it comes to using shooting powder I was thinking of changing the feed to recycling satellite system for the 3 weeks, so I don’t need to use 45 packs of the shooting powder. Do you think this is safe

Gday, some growers I respect say cloning is faster than seed, Im not seeing that. A bean can crack in a cuppla days, and with in fourweeks she's good to go 12/12. A clone needs what ? 7days to get her roots going, then veg for 3-4 weeks, looks like clones might be a little bit longer. So im not talking about the difference in advantages/disavantages of cloning, its a must if you want to breed or do any research, however if time is of the essence wich one would get you your buds FASTER?

its my first time growing so i was reading how to guides on the internet, they said to plant the seeds in april/may. I have now been informed that thats what people in the northern hemisphere do, and you plant em in october in aus. there already about 10cm tall. so is there any thing i can do with em? will they survive the winter and then just flower when everyone elses does? im from melbourne so it gets fairly cold. im a complete grow n00b so any help/suggestion is appreciated sorry for being such a fucktard aha

I am looking at starting a small grow in my bedroom cupboard- the most experience i have in gardening or growing anything is a tomato plant i have had in the garden since i was about 22 (am now 28) i water it and it produces fruit (shrug) If anyone could list the basic of basic essentials, it would be fantastic

Ive got mates that swear by de leafing when into bud to let the light penetrate the canopy and ive got others that tell me its a huge no no. They all have quite different setups - so hard to tell based on yield who actually knows what their talking about. What are peoples thoughts on this and has anybody run basically the same grow (nutes, lights etc) with leaves and then done the next one removing most of them to compare? If you agree with de-leafing - when is the best time to do it? Any opinions appreciated....

Hi all . New to this and about to venture into growing my own shit , sick of chasing and feeling like i get ripped off ! 2 options .1. quit ( been tokin 17 plus years , my only vice) 2. grow my own . Great to see sites like this around with helpfull like minded souls . I would appreciate being steered in the right direction in setting up and maintaining a small 1.2 , 1.2 , 2 m tent . I read the guide by hash nibbler and it was very helpfull and will build a system very similar to that . genrally a couple of days before i harvest i would sort of torture my plant by not giving them any water for a day or two, snap a couple of main collas, give it a bit of water keep it going for a bit longer then dose it with boiling hot water and let it sit in it for half hour then pull. what im trying to do is make the plant angry and think its dying , when it thinks this i beleve the plant is flowing all its energy to the flowers to save them resulting in more potent buds. this is just a theory would love to hear others.

Good afternoon people, I have a problem I'm hoping someone can help me with. I've just bought a 400w HPS lighting kit, its just the ballast, reflector and bulb. Ive never had one before so I'm not sure how exactly theyre supposed to operate, this one however is VERY VERY noisy. When I plug it in and turn it on theres a buzzing noise coming from the ballast that is loud enough to be heard 3 rooms away. Surely this isn't normal? And if it is normal how do people deal with this problem in stealth grows? Am I doing something wrong? Have I possibly hooked it up wrong? There were no instructions but I dont see how I possibly could have hooked it up wrong. I bought…

so. a 1.2x1.2x1.8m area N.F.T with 15min on 15 min off feed cycle 10 gullys 10 sites per gully (every week i take 2 ripe gullys out and put 2 gullys of cuttings in. perpetual harvest) =100 plants (1/2 oz colas on av.) on a 400 watter HPS cooltube what u think? pics soon.

Hi stoners Ok waiting on my first seed shipment to arrive from bonza! Grow is going to be in a garage . 2 grow tents Main 1x1x1.8 grow tent - 400w HPS , 15cm inline fan clone/seedling/veg is .8 x .8 x .45 "budbox" grow tent - 130w CFL , 10cm pc type fan what do you think the best system to grow in this would be , given its in a garage so temps will be a bit up and down (just a winter grow) and I won't get to check them every day , maybe 2x a week I am thinking of expanded clay pots in a tray with ebb and flow or dripper system or coco with drip both systems offer a bit of environmental protection from the heat/cold and are pretty simple. ive never done a …
