General Cultivation Q&A

Hey peoples out there. I have had this plant for around 6-8weeks and just need some advice as of what sex it is. Whilst there are a plethora of topics depicting male plants and how to avoid hermi's by getting rid of them, in my research I have been unable to find any information on how fast one must act once early signs of male flowering is spotted (Well I didn't research it, so much as watch re-runs of Family Guy). So, the question is what kind of time limit are we looking at before nearby female plants could be pollinated by a male that has only just began to show signs of flowering? and is it possible to move any male plants around the corner of my house, well away from the females without them pollinating them? Or should I just uproot the bastards? Any suggestions? I am …

Ez now people, I've just started out, first timer and have 3 on the go. They all in soil w/600w hps and carbon filter w/extractor. they been going for a little while now and for some crazy unexplainable reason we started one a bit later than the others.... (didn't think that through very well at all eh !) Basically i was wondering if i could prune the two beasts to the same height as the other one? And if anyone had any handy tips for doing so? ok Ive got 6 T5 54W high output tubes 4ft long 46W, 6 parabolic reflectors and 4 ballasts for the tubes all I have to do is wire them up and then mount them on some plywood, the tubes are 10000K Would these lights be ok for veg and flowering, i know they need some red spectrum light when flowering but will they be ok without? or will my buds be week loose? Cheers.

I have 2 strains going at one time, and one is done, the other needs several weeks. (I cant believe how different they were, see grow diary for pics). But im thinking of not flushing the one strain that is done due to the fact that its gonna be really hard for me to do a flush of half, and give the others the nutes they need at a vital time that they need it! So is this a bad idea, does it make the bud all chemically? i mean that bud grows up on the chems, how much could a 3 day flush before harvest do. Any opinions are appreciated.

My reservoir is made from a 120 litre plastic drum from which a submersible pond pump connected to a digital timer runs the nutrient mix around the grow room to feed the 4 litre per hour drippers, I use one dripper per plant. The plants are in self watering pots and and the timing of the watering system is set to keep the reservoirs of the pots topped up without overflowing them too much. I use a twin outlet air pump running 2 air stones to keep the water well aerated and the nutrients nicely mixed. The only occasions I have for dumping the reservoir are if there is something drastically wrong with the nutrient mix, when it's time to switch to flowering or at flush time…
