General Cultivation Q&A

i germinated about 20 seeds in the paper towel method and once the tap root came out i put them in 1.5 inch rockwool cubes with pre drilled holes with tap root going down about 1/8 inch down. i put them in my dome on a heat mat until it emerged from the rockwool. the problem i have is the seed is still on when it sprouts. it doesnt even look like it wants to come off. i put them under light about 7 inches away(4 foot 4 tube floro with mixed bulbs).and give about 20-25 ml of water once a day. water is distilled water with 35% h2o2 in it at about 2.0ml/l. the plants barely grow and after 3 days the seed starts to fall off but no roots are growing. 10 tens later they l…

Howdy - I'm on my 2nd grow and am having all sorts of bother with the plants this time compared to last time and was hoping someone could shed some light? My setup is in a shed (I'm in South Australia) , and I've got two plants going with 2x600 watts on each one. I'm 45 weeks into flower, and the plants are looking really 2nd rate. hey guys just a few questions: looking at flower power today and i couldn't find rockwool anywhere, the best i could find was coconut fibre. i was wondering if anyone knows how well this works as a propogation substrate? also ph lowering products.. ? i haven't been able to find them? i've heard getting them from a fish store is no good and i couldn't see any at flower power. the only alternative i have as a substrate for cloning besides coconut fibre was perlite and vermiculite.. just wondering what i'd be best with? maybe you guys know a good hydroponics store in sydney? or a good place to get some proper materials. hey i could also get those peat pelet cubes that enl…

hey i just want to no if any1 has heard of germinating seeds in a shot glass of water and a tiny bit of clonex because i got told that it works well because it promotes rooting and makes the plant female its worked 4 me on 3 different plants they've all been female but i dont no wether its a flook or just that i happend to have good seeds or that the tip this old man told me works. so if any1 no's of this method let us no but im gonna keep doing it till it stops working cheers dirtyman??

my ph keeps going down and id like to know if somethings wrong.everything ive read says ec stable-ph going up is normal.im in my 4th week veg,ichange my nutes every week,using tap water which is pretty good here.plain water out of tap reads 100 ppm which is the lowest my scale goes,could be less.ph goes down everyday about .2 til it hits 5.5 then i raise it to 6.0.plants look good and are growing well which i know is key(listen to you plants).but it seems strange.any feedback would be appreciated.thanks in advance!! also im using liquid earth 2 part nutes at 700 ppm .5 scale which is what seedbank says they like NL X AK47

so yesterday i tranzplanted from a small 1.5 inch rockwool cube and could see the taproot poking its lil self out a bit . and today when i checked out the 5 inch cube the little bastard was stickin out the bottom!! but the plant itself barely looks bigger, i mean the leaves are a bit broader but thats it . just a question though.... i mean im feeding it high 9-14-8 right now...could that be why? i mean if i switched to my other sheeeit making it 24-14-17 would that make it grow better as a whole or do you think that would poison the shit out of it...? it looks real perrrrty right now though so im doin good i assume Merc.

I cant find a definitive answer.what is the correct ppm/ec for dwc.I hear its 1/2,1/3,2/3, of other setups.Im shore there are variables but there must be a rule of thumb.(northern lights x ak47)

So for about 2 weeks now three plants have showed their sex Ive got two lovely ladys and 1 male that is growing balls at a fast rate i had no idea when the balls would open but yesterday i didnt keep an eye on my grow room until later that night and i discovered that one of the balls had opened. will this pollinate my crop? because this is my first grow and i really dont want seedy bud. i know its only 1 flower that opened but what are the chances. i got out a spray bottle and misted my females to get off the pollen if thats possible.
