Ok, im hoping for seedlings at the moment from some seed i had found. im wondering what kind of a set up could work in an old fridge. not expecting anything amazing, just a solid small plant. i have a few fluro battons, an ablite 1000w uneversal lamp holder and also a few cfl fittings. i want to grow in soil, but is it possible in a space that size and still have a thriving plant? drip irrigation and exhaust fans would be going in along with a carbon filter. thoughts?

I've been pondering this for a while; If a plant which sheds its leaves perennially is known as 'deciduous', is there a more technical term than 'evergreen' for a plant which does not? From a very young age I could guess/work out that an 'evergreen' was 'green' all the time. However, the term 'deciduous' foxed me until i made it to secondary education. Many people use the term evergreen to describe conifers but not all conifers are evergreen. Likewise, evergreens are not all conifers. Did botanists simply run out of science and technical words in the past? Surely there must be something more technical than 'evergreen'? Then again, perhaps I am wrong..... Please put me out…

i plan to do a closet grow... one plant... organics... using CFLs... home-made carbon filter... i been researching and reading everyday for the last two weeks... however, as i never done anything to do with plants, i cant make sense of most of the information... starting reading hydro... since i couldnt find anywhere for hydro, i starting reading about organics... confused... i got a few questions... what stinks more, the soil/fert or the plant itself? whats a good, cheap soil mix? for one plant... with Nutrients, why is there always A & B? Whats the difference, i thought maybe it would be veg and flower... but there usually two diff types (Eg. Roots A & B, B…

Hey people. My brother is going to set up a grow setup in my room. He used to have a very sophisticated setup, with 3000w, the lights would rotate etc. He's using some of the equipment to set up a simple grow. We are not sure whether to use hydroponics, or just grow organically under the light. I must admit, I like the idea of organic growing, however I am sure hydro probably gets a bigger yield. Lets assume I go the hydro route. If you guys would get a $100,000 reward for who guessed the closest answer, and lets say I get high yielding seeds, roughly what sort of yield would you get from a few plants with 1000w running 24/7 until flowering? I know nobody can …

Hey all! So I've done lot's of reading up and I'm quite convinced to try out aeroponics for my first grow... mainly because I already have much of the spray heads and such already from a herb garden.. not this kind of herb though xP Looking around I came across a interesting set up... 6" PVC piping with 3.5" holes cut ever 12" with 3" pots for the plants.. in conjunction of course with misters and then training into a reservoir. apparently they where flowering at 12 - 16" - which is good for me and brings me to another question.. is there a way to control plant size whilst still getting a good yield? I don't want massive plants in my wardrobe.. I'd like something m…

Hey Guys, Awhile ago I came across a table on this site that indicates which trace elements become locked out depending on level of pH. From memory there was some discussion on increasing pH levels towards the end of the cycle in order to block the plants uptake of specific elements to encourage resin production [matter of opinion]. If anyone knows what im on about and knows where to find it can you pass it on? - ive been searching for close to an hour now and as much as i love getting sidetracked on other threads im really keen to check out and test the theory. thanks in advance JC

g'day folks. i had a mate few seasons ago pulled a small plant, twas hermaphrodite... he got like 10000 seeds of it and every single one is female. over 200++ of them seeds have now grown into fully mature female plants. not a male in sight. what i read somewhere here on the forums is that when you do pull a hermi, theres 3 ways ya seeds can go - all female, all male or half/half. now - my mate has moved way too far away to get anymore of thease little babies. im friken kickn' meself. So i want to try and grow a few hermi's in a room, and try hopefully pull 1 batch of all female seeds. if i grew a whole room of hermi's, does this mean that all the seeds can swi…

Hi all, I'm hoping you might help point me in the right direction as to what to grow. I've been doing a bit of reading, that said there are more strains than i know what to do with. i'll be importing seed, and my situation/requirements are as follows, i'd like to grow in soil (indoor is prefered if possible), it will need to be stealthish so no monster bushes, i'd prefer something that gives a good heady/cereberal high though a bit of a body stone is ok. i'm looking to predominately cook and vape with it with the occasional spliff thrown in. this will be my first canna grow so i guess it also needs to be kinda forgiving. if you need more info etc just ask. i'll be lookin…

Hi guys, I'm growing in a relatively small area, a clone tent with the dimensions of 0.8x45x0.8 and am ready to purchase a hps bulb and ballast for flowering. I already have a cool tube + ducting for the fixture. I am just wondering which would be best in this area of space between 250w and 400w hps and if anyone has any info or experience in regard to this. Much Appreciated. UC
