  1. I was in a convo with someone i've been getting advice from for a few yrs now. She owned her own hydro shop for 10yrs now. She claims she heard of the grapevine that Cyco analyzed Advanced Nutrients ingrediants and copied their range. can't prove it but just what i heard. Never tried the stuff myself I went to their website and couldn't help but notice the similarities BB
  2. Yeah natural is my preference. However it isn't really practical these days. Indoor gardeners have definately turned their craft into an art, considering the conditions they have to work with. Back in the day before a kind ex decided to ruin my fun and make a phone call - I'm not too proud to say i grew some quality stuff indoors myself. Last summer I met a new friend who had a couple going outdoors. I shared the little knowledge i had with him of organics (as it was his first grow) and to both of our suprise these girls really took off. He was in it for the bucks as he's on a pension for all sorts of injurys and illness's - but after trying his own product he was a convert. He moved 80% of it and we kept the other 20%. It had been so long since i'd had any natural stuff and it was a real treat. That 20% lasted us (and a few close friends) about 4months - and just got better with age. I feel high just remembering it.
  3. Ok so heres a dose of hippy crap for y'all I don't know about the science of what you all are talking. There's probably a bit of truth and a bit of bs on boths sides. None of it can be proven except by quoting someone elses research on the net. You just never know for absolute sure if the science is correct. The research can be biased based on who funds it and scientists do get shit wrong as well. But heres what I do know: Mother nature never gets it wrong. Ever. I've grown inorganic hydro and got great weed. I've grown organic hydro and got great weed. I've grown organic outdoors and got great weed. The differences were subtle. I consider myself very sensitive to all sorts of things. Tastes, smells etc. I can't take pharma drugs my body is way too sensitive for them. I can't drink more than a 6pack of anything and when I get high i need very little. So when i consume anything, i tend to notice the sublte differences more than most ppl. Here's the conclusions I've personally come up with: You just can't beat mother nature. Sorry....but that's my stance. It's not just about the taste or your health - and those things are important. It's the High. It's more gentle on the mind and body and just more enjoyable/pleasant. Here's what i personally believe but cannot prove: The Sun, as apposed to artificial lighting, gives the plants something. Call it 'energy' 'love' 'Light' whatever. It gives the plant something and programs it in a way nothing else can. Anxient ppl worshiped the Sun and we may thing that's primative to do something liek that today, but the older i get i think maybe they were onto something. There's more to the sun than being a ball of gas. When you combine that with what our mother earth gives the plant from below and the energy we give the plants ourselves as we tend to them - you have some very special weed indeed. Yes i'm a hippy, and yes i probably speak shit, and yes i probably have no idea what i'm talking about. Please save your hate for someone else. This is just my beliefs and I'm not going to impose them on anyone. Peace
  4. That's true Jabez. They love a good flash in the papers down here. They shut me down in 2008, and after a couple of years of all these newspaper articles on how much tougher the law was getting. i was shittin myself leading up to court as I had a whole house set up practically. I got a $1200 fine. If it wasn't for the fact that I have a 2yr old bub that gets dropped off to me weekly by my ex, and that it was my ex that made the call to them - i would of set straight back up after that. It's a scare campaign. But like i said before, even after all these years of doing this, the price here is still the lowest in Oz. I would love to sit in on one of these meetings when they're making these laws and ask: "Why bother?"
  5. I agree. I see the signs of a collapse like this world has never seen. I'm not afraid of it. I could go about this as i have studied it extensively since 1998 - but i'm sure you know the important parts of it and when i wrote that, i was privately meaning 'until this big shift occurs' but didn't want to start a whole new thread BB
  6. I think that's how many ppl start out. Teenagers do get dollar signs in their eyes after discovering the herb, sitting around having a 'sesh' with mates talking about going large, listening to hip hop and watching movies like scarface . But the vast majority of growers are small timers who have matured over the years and who grow for themselves and maybe a handful of their closest friends. I've met plenty of growers over the years and i can't say many of them have enough supply to last till their next plants are ready. I'm sure there's a few big timers around but our paths have never crossed. The cannabis trade works mostly as a vast network of small timers - like the internet does. That's why the law is completely wasting it's time. You can never shut the internet down. It's impossible. You would have to go around smashing every computer in the world. And um...yeh - good luck with that. Imagine if they put those resources into schools and health care. Unfortunately, cannabis will always be hunted like this and demonised. To 'go soft' on it would be to admit that it's not so bad, and that would open pandoras box on all the good uses for hemp - which in turn threatens massive industries. imhco
  7. And I don't see how they can enforce an interstate internet retailer to abide by s.a laws. Why would he? It's not federal and there's money to be made helping out a fellow gardener. Ppl will just buy their stuff online and get it sent to safe houses. Waste of time. I find it interesting that they throw everything but the kitchen sink at S.A growers every year, but the price of weed is still the lowest in oz. Taxpayers dollars being wasted.
  8. Bloodshot Where did you get that info from? I'm curious because that's not the impression i got from the original posting cheers m8
  9. If i'm reading it correctly - only the ppl selling equipment at the hydro shops need to apply for a licence/character check. I don't see how that will affect the average grower.
  10. What is FIMing? I did an ozstoners search and came up with nothing? Edit: Did a google search. Sounds interesting
  11. The ebay link i posted has 4 available now and is getting more stock in soon.
  12. Just found these on ebay. $100ea http://cgi.ebay.com.au/COOL-TUBE-155MM-X-5...1742.m153.l1262
  13. You can buy water evap coolers for hydro rooms and attach it to a thermostat. Some hydro shops sell them custom made (unlike the plastic ones you buy at electrical stores). When the room hits a certain temp it will switch it on. I used to use one and it raised my humidity 20% and dropped my room temp 5deg. My room sat at about 30deg and 55% humidity in summer.
  14. Cool tubes are great but their refectors are shite. You lose so much potential light. Check out the cool tubes with batwing reflectors at glandore hydro http://www.glandorehydro.com/products_prof...l_products.html
  15. Thanks all. Heat isn't an issue got that sussed. I hava a mate who is growing 4 plants on the same size screen as me and he's pulling 9pnd per 4 plants (incredible huh. In my pic i harvested 4.5pnd), simply from having so much light. I figure what the hell, if i'm going to have 4 plants i might as well get the maximum that they can yeild too. On top he runs 4 600watt hps, in the middle of them lights he has a 600watt retro m.h, and also on the sides of that m.h he has 2 400watt son-t-agros (7lights on top). Underneath he got 5 400watt hps in all the gaps of the 4 plants. I'm not convinced those retro globes are as good as the proper m.h. And the room is just for flowering. I forgot to mention that. I have spare 600's i'm not using i could always put them on top. But i dont' know if have all of the light hps is the way to go? I guess the son-t-plus are a little bit colour corrected. At the moment i'm leaning towards perhaps putting 6 x 600's on top with these shades: (scroll down screen and you'll see cool tubes with batwing refectors) http://www.glandorehydro.com/products_prof...l_products.html Thanks for your input
