hermies are the most misinterpreted sex of a MJ plant ever.. heres the run down.. TRUE hermies come in 3 combinations.. Pistolate hermie, showing 3 sex sites with female and only 1 site showing male Staminate hermie, same as pistolate but the with 3 sites showing male 1 site showing female and ofc a true hermie.. showing 2 females 2 males.. can be in various combinations.. these are Hermaphrodite in the true sense of the word meaning showing both sexes.. now the confusion starts becuase as we grow from female clones ( mostly because this happens more on clones than seed) these are true females.. meaning all 4 sexing sites are showing female, for these to turn hermie you need to use some kind of method, but youre not really changing the plants sex, your just using a chemical to block the female gene, silver i think from memory does this and its probably why colodial silver or sivler triphosphate is used.. Gibrellic acid works differently, it actually changes the plants sex, so you will actually see male balls on a female instead of the "banana' leaves you get with a stressed plant or STS'd plants. these seeds are in no way going to be gauranteed female, its just youll get more females than males how ever if using a chemical like STS you can get a higher % of females over using a stress method. ALL Cannabis plants have this self seed property, its a survival mechinism with in the plant to reproduce with out any males.. so to say ALL cannabis plants are Hermaphrodite isnt exactly true, but not too far from it. its not TRUE hermie, its a survival thing they all have, i was told they actually sense that theres no males in the area and go into this survival mode, im not sure if its true, but you do notice in other plant species a chemical reaction when bugs or other animals chew on them as a deterant, and also as a warning to surounding plants to start forming this chemical, so you might be well with in reason by saying a plant pollinated early wont produce the "bananas' , makes sense as its already seeded, doesnt need to do anything more
