  1. Wow, Merlin, that must be some monster plant you grow? I like to have a few plants as I like a variety of different highs. I easily keep myself supplied with a 400w LED in a 4x4 tent, but could easily do it with a slightly smaller grow. As Merlin says, start small and expand if you need to. Most new growers that I have seen are defeated by their own paranoia. As plants reach maturity things become a little tense at the time when you just have to hold your nerve. I have seen many growers freak out at about week 6 or so and harvest prematurely.
  2. They all look fine to me. There are often variations in seed packs. The first pic close up labelled D, looks to have female flowers starting, although it's a bit blurry. Those white hairs.
  3. Welcome to the site. Sorry to read that you have cancer. All the best. No idea if you've been ripped off but I found a couple of sites that say they sell it. They look dodgy to me and I personally would not touch it. Such as this one; https://weedapproach-au.com/buy-medical-marijuanas-australia/ There is a huge black market for CBD oil and related products. Some of those same outlets also sell THC products but they don't advertise it on their website. I would not like to say which ones do this on here, and I don't know if you can send me a PM yet being a new member. If it was me I would contact the Nimbin Hemp Embassy via email. They take a day or so to answer but are pretty good. Explain your medical situation and they may be able to help. The Hemp Embassy are at least ethical. I never use bitcoin. The places I have purchased CBD oil from all take credit card. Any cannabis you buy in Australia will be expensive. There's also a facebook page, CBD reviews Australia which has good info on which places are legitimate. They may be able to help with advice on how to obtain RSO but will not help you obtain it. But bear in mind, this is illegal unless you are a medical user with a script. Also this mob did a Netflix movie about supplying CBD in Northern NSW. They do supply CBD products and may be worth email and having a phone consultation https://greenlighthealth.com.au/ The other thing you can do is go the legal route. This is quite easy but expensive. in my opinion this is your best bet. There is a great thread here about medical access, but to be honest this site is a ghost town at present. You are better with online research. Probably shouldn't say this but many members here have gone to another Aussie cannabis site, Serrated Edge, so might be worth joining. https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/topic/81502-medical-access/ As far as growing your own, it's pretty easy but takes a lot of time to get enough to make oil. You also need seeds. Plenty of online information plus on this site. Good luck.
  4. Actually getting opiates legally can be difficult as well these days. I have severe chronic back pain, and a recent change of doctors, who now refuse to prescribe opiate based medicine at all. I got a lecture about how they don't really work, and can be harmful long term, bla bla. They should try living with pain every day. So they give me Panadol osteo. I may as well eat tic tacs. The American opiate crisis has spooked a lot of doctors, rightfully so I guess. But for those of us who are responsible and careful with medicine, it just seems a bit cruel.
  5. Merlin, that sounds awful. Not much that you have posted makes me want to go down the legal route. Hassle and cost being the main impediments. It is such a pity that legal medical has not got its act together, at least in your case. I'd be writing to relevant ministers by now if it was me, even though it sounds like an issue with your doctor. I have to ask how much is 10 grams now, with a $10 increase per gram? I've never sold pot, but if I did $10 total per gram sounds fair, given what it takes to produce. Can't believe that increase. Wow. At one point I looked into becoming a legal grower and the red tape to do so is immense, but the biggest cost I think would be security. You have to have a secure facility which would cost heaps. Maybe that is the main reason for the cost of the product, because cannabis in a legal market should be quite cheap. Instead legal seems pricier. Wish we would go down the route of small producers and cannabis clubs. Seems big business wins every time in Oz.
  6. I have a few of their seeds but yet to grow them, Manipuri, Mango Thai and Kumaoni. Unique landrace genetics which are rare these days. I have a lot of respect for growers looking at these options, as modern breeding seems not to have necessarily improved things. Lots of varieties have been lost sadly and need to be preserved. Probably a good option as long as you realise these are landrace genetics, with all the associated issues. I have the Kumaoni as freebies, but if I was buying Himalayan, I would go with other options. There are mixed reports on the high from Kumaoni from a bit boring to very good. However, Angus says the high is great, so it is something you'd have to try. They used to have Kumaoni as freebies so if they still do you will get them anyway. Nanda Devi and Malana Cream might be safer. If you are looking at sativa options Manipuri would be great,as would some of the Laos. Also ACE seeds has some of these types and are likely to be more worked breeding wise, such as Anapurna I think it is, or one of their Himalayan crosses. Angus from TRSC is one of the most passionate and knowlegable people on landrace and cannabis. There are a few podcasts that are worth a listen if you want to know more.
  7. This was stoner science from the 70s. I can also recall people suggesting putting the roots in boiling water, ringbarking the plant etc.
  8. Sugar Haze or Original Haze. @ Pikey, I grew Mama Thai expecting a pure Thai. Flowered in 10 weeks and was clearly a hybrid of Skunk/Thai. It was ok quality wise, just not what I wanted.
  9. I don't buy seeds anymore, but if I did, I heard good things about Seedsman Original Haze so that might tempt me. Blue Dream might tempt as well. You should also stock a CBD variety and a 1:1 THC/CBD for medical userrs. Is the giveaway just seedsman varieties, or any available through their site? It has been years since I checked out Seedsman and the site is quite annoying now. You cannot browse seeds like you used to as you need to indicate your country. WTF? Can't seem to browse by vendor either unless I am missing something?
  10. Yeah go slow to begin as itchy says. The way I normally work out a dose like that would be that if I was smoking, roughly 1/3 gram gets me there depending on the variety. So if you have started with 9 grams, that is about 27 doses. So if have 155 grams divide by 27, it is about 5-6 gram dose. Maths is not my strong point so you had better work it out yourself. Personally I find I need more edibles to get the desired effect, than if I smoked, so it is going to be a personal journey to get the right dose. I make my own decarbed cannabis capsules and they measure 0.2 grams each. I can easily eat three and feel ok, although that is from a fairly mild sativa based plant. Overdosing on edibles is pretty uncomfortable and not to be taken lightly, although if you OD it will pass and won't kill you. Coconut oil will be solid at winter temps so you might need a spoon rather than a dropper. The reason itchy says to put it under your tongue is that it will effect you quicker than if you just swallowed it.
  11. I just cannot understand how these prices are justified in a Legal market? The plants are so easy to grow. I had a screening to see if I was eligible for legal medical, which I am, however the cost of the initial consultation, follow up consultations, and the actual product is mind boggling. I am not currently growing and am getting CBD on the black market, but am tempted to come out of retirement and start growing my own again. It's a shame as I am at the stage of life where I want to be legal.
  12. On driving with THC in your system rather than impairment; It seems in Canada they can test for impairment. Why can't we? https://madd.ca/pages/impaired-driving/overview/cannabis-and-driving/#10 Can I fail the test hours or days after consuming? I have heard that traces of cannabis can stay in your system for a long time, even after the impairing effects are gone. Does that mean I could fail the test hours or days after consuming? It is true that traces of cannabis can stay in one’s system for quite some time after consumption. While a background haze of THC may persist after use, the roadside oral fluid screening devices are set to a 25 nanograms threshold, which is significantly higher than the legal driving limits. In order to fail the roadside oral screening test, a driver must have above 25 nanograms per millilitre of THC in his or her oral fluid. Readings at this level are indicative of very recent use or a high level of impairment. Setting the screening devices to fail at 25 nanograms or higher reduces the risk of false positives, helping ensure that only those drivers who have recently used or are grossly impaired fail the test. The oral fluid test is only a screening test and cannot be used as evidence in a criminal trial; rather, those drivers that fail an oral fluid test will then be required to do a second evidentiary test, which can be used as evidence. It should also be noted that police will need reasonable suspicion that a driver has drugs in his or her body to demand a driver take the roadside oral fluid screening test in the first place. This remains a concern for medical cannabis users, whose trace cannabis levels will be higher than the recreational user. MADD Canada’s recommendation, as it is for users of other prescription drugs which may impact driving ability, is to always consult with the prescribing doctor and follow their advice on if and when it is safe to drive after taking the drug.
  13. People are free to make their own decisions. My parents in their 80s were both advised bu their GP to have the vaccination, and have had astrazeneca. I'm in my late 50s and am waiting for pfizer, but to be honest, I think I am being stupid, and probably should just get astrazeneca. The chances of blood clotting are miniscule. What you need to weigh up is the fact that getting Coronavirus also increases your risks of blood clotting, far higher than a vaccine ever will. I think with astrazeneca your chance of dying from blood clotting is one in a million. Don't take my word for it; European Respiratory Journal From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, this disease has been associated with frequent thrombotic complications, due to the direct effects of the virus on the endothelium and to the “cytokine storm” following the host's immune response [2, 3]. In a recent meta-analysis of 102 studies involving 64 503 patients, the frequency of COVID-19-related venous thromboembolism was as high as 14.7% Consequently, since the COVID-19 vaccines mentioned above have been shown to effectively prevent symptomatic infection including hospital admissions and severe disease [8–10], the risk of COVID-19-related thrombosis should be expected to (almost) disappear in vaccinated individuals. https://erj.ersjournals.com/content/58/1/2101111
  14. I've recently been down the CBD rabbit hole and have found there are a heap of organsiations providing this stuff illegally. I'm talking below 1% THc. Some of them are also providing THC products as well once you start chatting to them. Personally I have pretty much given up the THC (never thought I'd say that). CBD works for what I need. I am not an expert but I would think that for PTSD, you might need CBD with THC combined. This stuff unfortunately costs heaps. However, I have heard that there are people out there providing this for free, or at a reduced rate to those that can't afford it. I don't really know how to find these folk but calling or emailing the Nimbin Hemp Embassy might be an option, or contacting some of the higher profile suppliers. I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction. Good luck and I hope you find what you need.
  15. Like you, I have used the Volcano for over ten years. As I get older, I seem to vape less and less. I successfully vape 0.2 of a gram in the old Volcano chamber and it still works surprisingly well provided it is well ground up. I fill a balloon twice with this amount and can properly notice it.
