  1. Oh shit and I thought by baby had issues...that sucks the big one. I have to say I am somewhat amazed at the small level of damage I have in comparison to yours. Mine was caterpillar driven but I found it before it got to the rotten stage apart from a couple of branches that had some minor damage. Sio I have been very lucky to spot it early. Good luck with the recovery Max
  2. I have completed a partial harvest in fact all the big buds off the top. The culprit was a caterpillar/s and it seems to have impacted 3 buds of which with the worst one I had to chop off most of the top at least until I could see green again. the other two or three were about 2 inches from the top of the bud and I chopped out a couple of inches in each case. I am not sure about them touching any of the other branches but IO tried to keep them separated. I think I was pretty lucky and she is so close to harvest. I will have to keep an eye on her as she dries to ensure it doesn't spread. However the conditions are not ideal anymore, they have plenty of ventilation with a fan constantly stirring the air...here's hoping that's the end of it. Thanks for all the suggestions and help...on the up side I weighed the top bud formation (undamaged) which was maybe a foot and a half long and it was just over 3kg should have a dried weight of a couple of ounces...there was not as much as the earlier plants but the buds are much heavier. I can see that only a small percentage of the plant was lost and the worst being the bud I took the photo of earlier, the rest seems fine from what I could see. They are going to take a long time to dry as they are so thick and heavy so hopefully I have gotten enough to stop the rot.
  3. Been looking carefully at the plant and there are signs of an issue in a couple of other buds...leaves look slightly withered... I am going to a do a partial cut of anything looking suspect and hopefully io have caught it in time...Thanks for your help...it's only a couple of weeks away from finished anyway....its 183 days today and been flowering for just under 100 days...so if I have to go it a bit early then so be it....I will leave behind for a second cut later cheers Max
  4. I was really surprised to see the damage and budrot was my first guess but these went from Ok to this overnight although I did notice a 2 days ago a single stemmed leaf had withered but the rest looked fine...I thought I had damaged it when taking trich pics...The rest of the plant looks Ok and just one branch involved...at the end of the day what ever has caused it seems to be moving along so I think your first advice is still the right thing...out she comes
  5. Thanks Ozzy...the more I look at her the less I want to leave her in the ground so I am getting ready to grab her very shortly...just getting myself organised...if that much damage is in one night ...I would hate to think what she is like after another 24 hrs
  6. I came out this morning to check on the last of my baby's only to find thi mess on my bud...came in overnight almost Only this part involved at the moment Help anyone...time to harvest I think
  7. Hey Can't Grow I posted these Trichome apics today and I am about to start flushing in earnest the next week Here They are at the bottom of the page also I think mine looks ready...check out the small leaves at the top of the buds are they pushed up and out rather than tending to just lean down as normal, how does it smell, have you noticed any great amount of sudden growth...and you will notice it...they go from ..hmmm OK buds...to...your freaking kidding me wow (you hope they do)...and it feels like it happened quick, yellowing leaves are usually the bigger fan leaves first from the bottom, the leaves will show the amber trichomes far sooner than the buds will, so make sure you have a look about midway along the plant and at the flower., Don't forget it's the bulbs at the top of Trichs turning amber, not the stems...., the branches might have started to droop with the weight of the buds so the tight Xmas tree look, gets a bit shaggy...there also picks of mine taken on Saturday...how do the buds compare to yours as far as the colors go. Max
  8. About the same here...maybe a little more but not much...As for Yeild? I do it really scientifically...NOT...that is why I ended up with 4 more plants than I could possible ever use...and that still leaves me 4 and I should easily get my 12-15OZ I need plus another couple or so for butter, So have gone from "underkill" (Ran out of last seasons stuff months ago) to overkill..unless something horrible happens to my girls in the next 3-4 months then I am not going to run out for a FEW YEARS
  9. Thanks for that itchybro...mulching dam that is such a simple idea...I should have done that already...thankyou for that timely piece of advice...consider it taken on-board
  10. Hey ItchyBro I agree with you number 5 is a girl as I can find pistils on other parts this morning easily and with the two girls in the trench identified that gives me three girls. I have given one plant away so I am down to three left, one of which is experimental, So that leaves the monster in the large 100L pot and another Shiva in a 30L pot. As of this morning the big one in the pot is showing what appear to be pistils so now I pretty much know what I am keeping and what I am culling and it will end up being the centre plant in the trench as that will give my other two plenty of room to stretch. In the end not a bad result as I suspect the plant in the centre of the trench is male...it looks different and is stretching faster, elongated between nodes...appears to have a slightly different flower structure. So I will have given one away and one was male and I will ditch the last female bringing me back to 4, two in the trench and two in Pots. Thanks Everyone for the help and will post an update when it is clear if I made the right choices...about another week. Now I can work on maximising the growth of the two girls in the ground... Max
  11. itchybro my last post which I have now corrected, it should have read number 4 not number 5 in ther last shots
  12. Thanks Lookinggoodguys I have just been searching the plants and have managed to find white pistils of various sizes on all but one plant. It has grown a bit quicker and has elongated spaces between branching and nodes. I can not see anything in the way of Pistils it was number 4 in the last picks...if any I would say that is a male and the rest females. But will be more than happy if its a girl...although the other two in the trench are both girls so if I have to cull I may cull that one and give my other two plenty of room. Edit: it was number 4 in the last picks not number 5
  13. Billigoat unfortunately yes I am going to have to cull....I think I am just asking for trouble. If I keep 4 of them at even an average yield I should have way more than enough to meet my needs. I would love to give them away but unfortunately I am not sure I can find anyone local to take them. Hey Itchybro yeah I know where you mean but I couldn't tell shit from it...I'll just have to keep an eye on it Okay you two enough of the love fest over the nails...next time "I'll paint em up for ya" hahahaha b4weed Unless I want to be driven from my home by a chainsaw bringing them inside is pretty close to marital suicide, Thanks for the comments will give it another week and see if I can't work it out. Going on past couple of grows I am going to know by the end of this month for sure what is what. Just managed to get rid of one to a neighbour..one down 2 to go
  14. Hi Itchybromusic Till my paranoia gets the better of me is the truth and that could be anytime soon...I would like to leave it awhile to make sure I get the females...I see similar to you but I am not experienced enough yet to be able to call it for sure, on a couple of them I tried to show what appears to a pistil/pistils...they just seemed a bit on the big and fat side for first Pistils...but as I have said I am not that experienced
