  1. Cool thread Skunk . Though the whole kush defenition and origination still eludes me. Not interested in modern day variations and offshoots (og etc.) that falsely carry the kush title. What Id like to know is what is the original kush like? Do they still grow the same cultivar out there in the kush mountains? Cultivars from out there perhaps differ from valley to valley aswell just to make things muddier... and im bent... Man I'd love to be there in a kush field right now squating down to each one for look feel and fragrance. "Behold yea magic plant"
  2. The waters kinda get muddied here. One positive is that transfats predominantly come from cooked heated margarine like oils and are often hidden in food to subsitute for healthy animal fat. Give me a grass fed larded meat pie over Hydrogentaed vegetable oil anyway. Pardon the french but ban the fucking stuff I say. The tide of false claims against saturated fat and cholesterol are now being demythed and the vegetable oil/grain/sugar industry will finnaly have a fight on their hands. Butter it up (grass fed ofc) -RR-
  3. Its not rocket science. For an auto that will finish early get it in its final pot from the get go . No point shocking or stunting a short cycle type plant half way through its grow as this will efect yield.
  4. Plant later in the year for smaller plants Consider hiding you plants with other greeneries. Use something to screen them out. Use indica and consider auto strains. 5. Hey Tassie kid with a good well draining soil mix plants are always ready to pot up. The only thing you stand to lose is the xtra work involved if your plant happens to be a male. Other than that the plant had everything to gain by a larger pot with better roots temps , being able to plan a wider branch structure earlier for itself (yes it will grow lower and branchier in a larger pot) etc. etc.. Good luck with it
  6. Used them for a couple of years now and plan to use them with coco until the final pot . Start with a 1.5 , 8 , then 20 liter to final grow bag 45odd liters (not rocket) Advantages # Keeps your roots from circling. # The 1.5 small milk carton shaped pots are handy size for guerrilla and outdoor scenarios. # Lets you upsize pots with less lag to the plant. Good for mediums like coco that tend to bog down and require smaller pots first. # Pots can be opened out with little damage too roots. # Get's more air to your roots although subjective.... Things to consider # The smallest pots will get the most use because of males, culling etc.. Hence as you up the size of your pots they'l be needed in lesser numbers. Buy your smalls first. # Usefulness as a final pot is debatable considering their design is primarily to keep roots aligned for re potting. # Pots are still black and will fry your roots quick in the sun. Shield them with something appropriate. Hessian etc.. # Subjective but they look like pots Darth Vader would grow his Jedi tea plants in (pretty evil) Might piss some one off that 1% more Over all i really like them for a temporary pot. They do the job really well. ^Roots could use some enzymes but you get the picture ^Buy these first . They're the most useful ime. You can cut them down too if you want them shorter. Get into it -RR-
  7. Would I grow it? I still havent grown an auto but sure I'd give it a whirl given the oportinity. Not sure that Ive seen them grown outdoors in the tropics anywhere..
  8. That Auto Pounder certainly has balls Perhaps breed with it... Auto Pounder though... Chuckle every time it read it. Auto pounder topped with a slice of pgr on a cellobind bun and who knows what it could yield -RR-
  9. Ok my coco history... just getting back into coco again now after 3 years. Like most started out with usual bag of canna coco , liter of coco A+B, pk 13/14, rhizo, ec meter and ph pen Was plug and play and yeah it worked well. Coming from soil my yields shot up perhaps by twice and my plants seemed way lusher and healthier. Brilliant in comparison to my mediocre soil mixes. Pretty much after this i started using canna terra for veg and dutch master advance for flower (neither coco nutes) with good success for a couple of years. Went from using rhizo to seaweed and used silica and fulciv acid also. I tried a few different brands of coco medium and probably had the best experience with galuku at the time. Over all I found it a great medium when it came to plant health and being able to flush was handy. Two years at least and without any serious deficiencies or issues..... Then all of a sudden at the end I had a ton of bad luck. Whether it was the non buffered bricks i was using or what.. my grows and yields declined to the point where I switched to perlilte and coco was alien once again. Yeah all kinds of deficiencies I couldn't make sense of left me with a "beaten and bashed up" feeling mentally defeated. Irrational seeng that most coco grows peform well. So..... off I went coco'less for quite some time................ What spurred me back into wanting to try coco again? # Regaining my faith in the ability to tackle coco again after doing allot of reading. # I don't grow allot these days and I want to keep it hand watered. "unsophisticated" . # Bang for my buck ie carting water/ yield per pot ratio. # Can correct medium by flushing # Hydro speed when it comes to growth. # Rock hard buds which I can attest that coco delivers compared to other mediums such as perlilte. # Lighter pots when it comes to moving them around this cannot be understated So yes I'm back into it after all this time and here is my current grow # Strain is Chung lee by SSS # Coco is regular galuku brick buffered by using Glows instructions thank you G-low # Base nutes are canna coco and I have dutch master gold for flower . (plan is also to buy h and g base coco nutes to use along side canna to compare) # Pk will be using mpk (soluble ag fert) # Seasol and dried seaweed powder # Trialing fulvic acid again though I was never convinced I saw a difference. # Pots are rocket style pots to stop roots from circling in the all the pots bar the final flowering pot Over all I'm happy with my start though there are some issues already arising which I look forward to seeking opinion for in this thread. Anyways my reintroduction here as a coco grower. Thanks -RR- last pic is linked from gallery as it wanted to sit sideways^
  10. Gday folks, Recently reentered the the coco growers world again and I've been yearning for a some kind of hub for facts, user experiences and good argument on just how to get the best out of coco fiber. This thread is to unite the coco growers of OzStoners together in one place to share what we know. Post your succeses , your failures, your sick plants , your questions, your advice, your scientific data - theories . Anything about coco. Product junkies, fanboys/girls welcome, Product haters and DIY'ers welcome. Experimenters highly encouraged. Try to keep it on topicand back up your experiences with pics where ever possible. If you are going to link to external information please copy and paste it here with a reference as to keep all the info contained in this thread. Soil mixes are out but inert medium fillers/aeraters permitted. Short and sweet in order to get the ball rolling. The ball is now rolling........... :plant:

  13. I read up to book four a few years ago after stumbling on them in the library . Just recently watched series 1,2,3 and three a couple of months back and am still awed by how fecking magnificently they've done it. Feckin love all the characters and never want the series to stop ever . Just epic! After watching every episode I feel guilty at having downloaded it as well which isnt like me. Cant help but feeling I should contribute even a measly buck though i still havent. thats all i got to say im speechless
  14. First thing about sleep is that our natural daily rhythms called (sarcadium rythums) are largely governed by light exposure so its the first thing Id be getting under control. Basically you want to avoid bright light at night and in particular higher kelvin temperature that simulate daylight as it will delay your natural sleep cycle. It makes your body still think its day basically... There's a good ap you can download for your phone and computer called flux and this makes the colour temperature of you screen warmer thus not messing as much with your natural rhythm. It takes it from daylight 6500k down to a warm 3400k at night and soes this automatically when you tell it where you are situated. Do the same the same around your house at night. Don't leave daylight type bulbs on and expose yourself to bright lights. Turn the tv brightness down etc etc. Yeah there's nothing worse than not getting enough rest so as was told about this back in uni I thought Id chuck it in there. Hopefully it may help in conjunction with some of the strain suggestions listed here. Good luck Nancy
  15. Now we're getting somewhere.... Reckon you can post up some pics?
