weird e-mail

Recommended Posts

It's an age old scam that just got a lot easier and cheaper with the invention of faxes and then e-mail. I reckon that anyone stupid or greedy enough to believe this sort of things deserves to lose out, they need to learn that there's no such thing as a free lunch.

yeh ive seen all those but here is a nasty one that catches my newbie mates out everytime

the mail tells them they already have a virus and to go into your windows folder and delete a program which has a teddy bear as an icon

ok this is a standard windows file and now they have manually rooted their own puter :D

so dont ever delete SETDEBUG.EXE http://www.sector101.fsnet.co.uk/yahoo/annualleave/smileys/58.gifhttp://www.sector101.fsnet.co.uk/yahoo/annualleave/smileys/03.gif

peepz should never go and delete, rename or make changes like that unless the advice is coming from somewhere reputable. hardly not an email from someone (even if known to you). when in doubt, i always urge users to check on the mcafee website first, BEFORE doing anything.

For example:
