Dude, don't go spac.

 

If you are going to buy one 600hps it will be better than all the fluoros you can poke at it and you don't need 5 packs of seed, just get one, the only reason i could see to buy multiple packs of one strain is to breed from the best examples of that strain with another strain.

 

Just get a 600hps (or 400) and a pack of something that you like the sound of and go from there. When you get your plants veged to a suitable size and sexed you can lable them and take cuttings and lable them the same as the mothers they were cloned from and then throw the mothers into 12/12 and pick the best of the bunch (taste, potency and yeild, also keep an eye out for radical deviations as you might find a rogue) and keep it as a mother while you throw the rest of the clones to 12/12. Then you have a mother to take cuttings from.

 

As far as picking which strain you want you can go to a strain guide and look through what is there and find something that has a short flower period (if you want it short) and is the kind of mix of sativa/indica you think sounds good with a flavour that appeals to you. Read the descriptions and comments left by people who have grown it before and add it all up.

If your really that serious about growing and from the sounds of what your after you are you are you shoudl really scrap the whole idea of using fluro's , unless your just keepign your mums or clones under them.

 

what I would do is fork out on 3 400's or 2 600 watt lights , with propour ventilation and circulation of air you don't need to be near a foot away , My plants are as close as 10 cm at times, provided you keep the cannoppy cool and air travelign across it you will stay fine

 

 

the issue you will get with lighting a room with pure fluro's that no-one seems to have mentioned yet is the fact that fluro's have to be VERy close to the plant to get the best resaults , if you where to hook them to the walls and celing and didn't put them close enough to the plants they would all just over stretch and possibly die lookign and reaching for light

i know what oyu mean about long day right now my seedlings are almost touhing the floros and i would have them attached to the wall if i build the grow box above i would have 16 floros 8 on each wall have 2 fixures one right above the other and then have the 600 over head i just want the floros so that the sides get light so my bottom buds arent compleatly underdeveloped im more skeptical on the 600 kinda leaning towards a 100 but i already have floros and can et them pretty cheap so i will try and incoperate them somehow so i can save money

do you know a good site for comparison i used to but cant remember what the name is any and all help is taken into consideratin and mos tof the time used so thanks guys i wouldnt have a clue about anyting besdies how to light a joint with out you guys smoked for 6 years came here and ralized i know nothing it was great and scary at the same time but once again thanks guys

If you mean fluros compared to HIDs then there is no comparrison. Fluros are only any good for clones seedlings, Veg and flower should be done under HIDS, or the sun.

 

Although fluros will give you buds, once you have grown under a HID you will see what I mean.

Also dont go to 1000w hids, stick with 600s they are more efficient and lower heat.

ok im building my grow room tommarow but right now i have a small problem on my hands and here it is

 

my grow room is getting to hot and my plants are wilting i staked them but they are only seedlings none of them have there second set of true leafs yet

 

so far to fix the problem i gave them some water and moved them i was growing in my closet but now i moved my floros under my bed which is raised i have them in a underbed box with the flors about 10 cm away should i put them closer ventilation shouldnt be aproblem i have a fan blowing above on and under the lights and right over them plants but not directly on them due to weak stems i know its good for them but they just flop around and im pretty sure thats not good for them

 

any suggestions on how to strenghten stems???

Have you got an exhaust fan in the grow room?? That should be sucking the heat out fast enough to cool the grow box down.

 

Also you may still need them in a more humid area?

 

It sounds like your main problem is weak stalks? eg- are the actual leaves wilting?

If thats the case, its pretty normal. Only 2 things can help- 1) Air blowing them gently but strong enough to move the seedling.

2) Silica if they are in hydro,

 

For now get a straw, like a mCdonalds straw, cut it to the height of the seedlings, and right down one side of it and put the stalk of the seedlings inside of it.

That way the straw will hold them up until, they are stronger and can hold themselves up.

 

If you using fluros, then they wont produce enough heat to be a problem, Just use the palm of your hand to make sure they are far enough away.

Yea, Indicas will finish around 8 weeks.

Sativas are somewhere around 10 to 12 weeks,

Hybred depends on what percentage Indica or sativa it is.

Most seedbanks have the percentage with the seed descriptions.
