can i use floros i cant seem to save the cash for a 1000 watt but floros i can get for free could i make a room that had floros on all of the walls and celling and grow that way or would that not work im thinking each is 40 watts so if i et 20 then that would be 800 would that work???

Hey I have done grows under fluros, They are no where as good as a 400hps. but they can still gorw you some ok buds mate.

you could have ok results grouping all the fluros together but if they are just being spread out over the walls and roof, the yield would be very dismal...

 

i would continue saving up and use the fluros for vege and then put outdoors to flower...would be fairly cheap to do plus you could use the money you save from growing your own to buy the 1000watt light you want

well basically i want to put my 20 floros ina grow room that im making they would be covering the walls and celing im not sure how yet but i have a guy that can build anyhing and i have all the lumber and everythig else i am just wondering is it feasiable

 

i cant put them outdoors i have no whare to keep them andi cant bring in that many i have 40 little babys right now under the lights

how big is the grow area and are the plants mixed strains, bagseed or seeds from a seedbank?

the grow area is still to be determinted basied on what i learn on this thread i am growing bagseed as this is my first grow and dont want to fuck up i have about 40 seedlings right now but im sure i will be killing a few soon

 

whats the best way to sex a plant and how old should they be just put them on 12/12 for a while right???

 

i will probally have a 600 watt on the celing if the grows big enough my only problem is a low celing 6 feet and a 600 should be a foot and a half or two away from plants from what i know but then again this is my first real grow (not just throwing seeds down)

i want about 15 plants and i want as big a yeild as possible as quick as possible so

 

i was thinking sog or maby scrog im not sure what do you think??? would be the bestway to get a good but kinda quick harvest i need this done in 3 1/2 months and i need a month to cure it

 

if i put floros in with my 600watt should i do a hallway type grow room plants lining both walls and a isle down the middle track on top for the light thats kinda my best idea yet for the grow room have floros on the walls and the 600 in the middle but capiable of going to both ends

how long should i make the grow room it for 7 plants on both sides one at the end??? 4 feet maby 5 feet wide 6 high 10 or 12 long???

no offence but you will not get a good yield from bagseed in or under 3 1/2 months, especially if you consider drying, manicuring and curing...most bagseed is very sativa dominate and can take 12 weeks to flower no problems, there goes your 3 months then drying will take up the majority of the rest :thumbdown

 

its a good idea to add fluros for extra lighting as they'll increase yield but they need to basically be right up against the plants, on the bright side they dont get hot so if the plant touches them, you shouldnt have much to worry about if your grow area is 4-5ft wide by 10-12ft long and 6ft high, i would recommend using a 600watt hps on a track system with fluros on the walls....if you have the money, i would put a second 600 in and not worry about the track system so it would give u more of a yield but with the track system, the electricity bill isnt as big...

 

if your after a bullshit quick harvest, invest in a very indica dominate strain like afghani, hash plant, morrocan, etc. those strains take 5-8 weeks to flower, and when mass plants are put in a small area, you can still get a fantastic yield of potent chunky buds in a very short amount of time....

 

if u picked a strain that grows a single bud instead of branching, you can fit mass plants up nice and close to each other and flower them only after a couple of weeks vege and have a harvest time of 7 weeks in total thats 7 crops a year if done correctly but to get to that stage, there is going to be alot and i mean alot of fucking around...

best way to sex a plant is to change the light cycle to 12/12, within 2 weeks they should be showing wether they re male or female, but sexing this way can be a bitch when it comes to removing males :thumbdown

 

another way is to take cuttings and instead of rooting them under 24/0 light, put them on 12/12...should take around 2-3 weeks to fully root but by the time it has, it should be showing sex and since this can be done while the plants are still growing, you can do it at a young age and remove the males before they get too big and you waste space....

 

you could also just drop the light down to 14/10 or 15/9 and the plants should show pre-flowers....

thanks man ok first off im going to invest in seeds i didnt really want to but i have bils that are going to be due with no cash to pay them so this has to be a faster grow i cant afford a second 600 but if this grow go well then i will is there any type of plant you would suggest

do any of you guys know wher ei can get white widdow or northern lights cheap do you think xpat would mak me a deal if i bough 5 packs

fluros tend to grow quite well but there is not enough red spectrem to bud correctly under them and you end up with rather spindley buds, but a 400 hps above with fluros on the walls works wicked.
