germination help needed for beginner

Recommended Posts

Im new to this stuff myself, Im on my second attempt of growing, Im in the early germination stage. I just noticed sproutage, im growing using flourescents not really sure the light ratio i should be using but so far its safe to say i havent killed this batch. one thing to remember is to not use to much water, I am using a spray bottle to be extremely safe. I found that on my first batch i had the light about 1ft away from the top of the pots and this is not a good approach the result will be a huge growth spurt resulting in a very thin stem and at no true leaves this time i have the lights maybe 1-2inches away from the top of the pots seems ok so far. Any one have more advice im also accepting so let me know what u can offer me.

When seeds first sufficiently moistened, they release a plethora of amino acids & vitiamins. This is like mother's milk to the emerging seedling. By soaking some wheat (any grain seed, basically) for about 36 hrs (after it swells but before it emerges), then soak your seeds in this diluted 50/50 solution as per normal. After seeing the effects, I now do this as a rule of thumb.

Potassium Nitrate is another excellent pre-soaker.
