PK 13-14 and Oxyplus

Thought I'd try adding some oxyplus to my recirculating system because the roots were taking on a slight brownish tinge. While I was at it I also added some PK 13-14 to give the buds a little extra treat.

Now my nutrient water has gone a little cloudy, is this normal using these products ??

Sounds like you wrecked ya nutes?? precipation or whatever .But I have used oxyplus for years and its never done that to me???

I have been using hydrogen peroxide which is the same thing as oxyplus and it never turned the nutes cloudy.......must have somethingt o do with the PK 13-14 or a combination of both.

did you put the nutes into the water or the water into the nutes? if you put the nutes and al lthat together then added the water, thats what would have made the water cloudy as all those chemicals are very harsh and react quite violently towards each other...

My 120 litre nutrient tank was filled with good quality water then the oxyplus was added first at the recommended dose of 2 ml per 10 litres.

 

Then the PK 13-14 was added half hour later later.

yea oxyplus is just a brand name, its all Hydrogen peroxide.

the only difference in h202 is some contain silver etc like hydroshield.

 

Its got me beat, Ive never heard of this or seen this from H202. and I havent used PK from canna before.??? but I have used other brands and never had this?

 

What nutrients are you using??

Had you adjusted the ph levels at the same time??

No need to be sorry mate, at least ya gave some input.

 

I have been doing some further reading at non MJ sites and I think it may be because my roots were in the early stages of being attacked by Pythium and the cloudiness is a resultof the H2O2 doing its work in killing it.

 

Similar to what happens when you dab peroxide on a wound.....it fizzes up.

 

Just a theory though, but the plants still seem to be doing ok.

Gone off h2o2 products abit - and i would use microbial and zym 2 achieve a better result - if ya worried about phythium lower the nutes temps under 22 degrees.

 

But ive used pk13-14 and Oxyplus together without it going cloudy before - what nutes are ya using?

Yea I agree, dump and flush it mate.

Im going to get some microbial for my next grow, you recomend the zym too? whats that going to do with the microbial?

Im a little worried about what I use in my flood and drain as the drains are easily blocked.
