Super Spreaders - whos used them?

Recommended Posts

I'm running a 600W HPS in a wardrobe. I've managed to get heat down to an acceptable level but I still appear to be bleaching the upper leaves of my plants that are directly under the globe. :scratchin

I've seen some of those Super Spreaders advertised around(like a V shaped metal guard with holes in it) and am wondering if that is the answer to my problems? Anyone used these or have any experience with them?

yup I have them on my 600 and my 400.

they work really well to spread the light out over the grow so that it all gets even amounts of light.

it also does disapate some heat but It wont fix using a 600 in a tight position.

Thats cool, thats all I really need, just to remove the intensity of the light directly under the lamp. Heat is under control at the moment (canopy temps under 30c) but the upper leaves closest to the lamp appear to be getting bleached by the light B) , they turn from green to yellow very early on but dont actually die off, the plant appears to be healthy otherwise. I think I'll get one and give it a go then.

Nah not really an option wantachronic, as the further away you put the light the more light you loose.

as an extreame if he lifts the 600 it quickly starts turning in to a 400 sorta thing.

Using the spreader means he can have the light close and doesnt cook the tips.
