Shed Monster

Recommended Posts

Man, that is awesome, I got a hydro setup with a 400w and a 250mm exhaust fan (in a cupboard).. It's only still a baby, only about 40cm tall, with about 25-30 branches, I'm only new to growing, I got mine still in perlite rocks (thinking of using them the whole grow) and using "xtreme grow" .. What tips could you give me.. This is my 2nd grow, the first were virtually dead when I got them.. so yea, anyhelp would be good Edited by SteveO

Geday SteveO,

That plant was grown in 100% perlite from seedling to finish with no problems. Fed her cheapo HydroBotanics nutes with Monsta Bud and Ozi Tonic as per the instructions on the bottle.

Had another two plants around the same size going in a 1x1x1.8 m grow room thats inside the shed.

If your plant is growing healthy you must be doing it right :peace: How much bigger do you plan to let it get before you change to 12/12?

Change it to 12/12?..

My mate was telling me to use "clay balls" but the perlite has been doing a great job, so far.

I was also told to use miracle grow, but when i went into the hydro shop, at the time he told me to try xtreme grow... There are 5 more clones in with it, but they arent anywhere near the size of the bigger plant.

I was wondering, what did you use to feed your plant water and howmuch dry bud did you get?

You'll need to change over your lights to 12 hours on / 12 hours off to get them to flower. Beware of your space as well because they will stretch a fair bit.

There are a number of different mediums you can grow in using a hydro set up and perlite is just one. You'll find folks growing in a variety of mediums on this site.

Stick with hydro nutes. Other types of fertilizers will clog up your system.Never used xtreme grow personally. I've used Bud Pounder, Hydro Botanics and I've currently got a grow of Shiva Shanti 2 sucking down Canna Flores with Ozi Tonic added.

I didn't actually weight the dried bud but it kept me in smoke for about a month and a half.

Cheers Jarhead, thanks for the help.

I have the plant setup in a clayball/perlite mix, I'm still using the xtreme grow, the plant is growing everyday, so I'm guessing it's doing ok

It's much bigger now, I took some pics on my digital camera, I'll be sure to put them on here to show ya.

I was wondering, how old until you switch over to a 12hour cycle?

Also, some advice, a mate of mine, said it would be wise of me to tie the plant down (said to bend the branches just stiffly) I was gunna use fishing wire..

Is this a good idea?

Hey SteveO,

Once they are about 12 inches or so you can change over. Don't leave it too long or when they start to stretch they will take over your grow room and the biggest prob is you might not be able to get your light high enough to keep from burning them. Tying down is a good idea and easy enough to do. It will help add to your overall yeild by increasing the grow area (potential budding sites) of your plants.

I've never tried SOG or SCOG so I can't comment. Anybody want to jump in?

Bring on the photos mate.
